texas beats OU, 17-6

This game should most closely resemble the 2001 game, a low-scoring defense struggle.

The score will be 10-3 at halftime, with OU's field goal coming as a result of good field posion provided by a Colt McCoy interception.

OU will score another field goal int he second half, making it 10-6, and making texas fans slightly nervous.

Jordan Shipley will remove all doubt with a punt return for a TD in the 4th quarter, giving you the 4th victory in 5 years.

Those of you who are worried about this game need to remember something: This OU team isn't all that good.  If texas had any kind of offense at all, this game would be a blowout. Given texas' weak offensive line production so far this season, and given OU's depth on DL, this will be a low scoring affair.

However, texas will still win the game.

Beergut picked Texas?

I don’t know if this makes me feel more or less confident, but I definately feel dirty.

I'm thrilled to have the guru, Beergut predict a (T)exas win

Now we can all relax fellas!

Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.

not bad

I share your concerns about the Texas O-Line. Can’t really argue with the Colt interception forecast, either (unfortunately).

However, I predict a higher-scoring game with a similarly close result. (+- 10pts).

And as long as we’re making predictions…. I think this will be the game when John Chiles steps up and has a huge game. Buckner and Shipley will make some big plays, too.

Really not sure what to think about the UT running game, though.

no offense?

If texas had any kind of offense at all, this game would be a blowout.

Texas ranks 1st in scoring offense and 7th in total offensive production, sooo…..

I share the concern about our O-line run blocking and, to a lesser extent, giving McCoy enough time to establish a deep threat to set up the underneath stuff.

It may very well come down to a defensive battle, but it’s hard to be better than 1st in terms of putting points on the board, regardless of how you do it.

I am worried but

I hope McCoy starts using his feet. He was so much fun to watch last year. My favorite plays were where he would scramble and get a pass off. If stays in the pocket tomorrow and we run in a predictable way we are finished. This line blocked last year and we had success. I know McCoy have less receiving tools but I consider this game the beginning of our real season and hope some receivers step up.

ou is better than you think

ou lost to two ptetty good teams by 1 point with their back-up QB. I think ou will have Shipley doubled all day. Bucker or hopefully Kirkendoll steps up. The running game will do better with a no-huddle offense that Texas will run.

Texas 28-21

If Texas wins the turnover battle....they win

ESPN keeps saying the team that runs the ball the best will win. I disagree. The team that wins the turnover battle will win the game. Its like a good NFL game.

Pretty good predictions!

I have to hand it to you… I couldn’t have been more wrong with my forecasting…
