Computers not nice to Texas!
We're still third, no thanks to the computer rankings which have us 6th. But the Coaches and Harris Polls keep us at 3rd. I've been waiting all day to see how the computers would treat Texas. Last year the computers seemed to really like Texas when the other polls were down on us. It looks like they flipped this year.
| 3 | Texas Longhorns | 6-0 | 3 | 2,661 Harris Poll(3) | .9337 | 3 | 1,386 Coaches Poll(3) | .9397 computer rankings (6) | .8000 |

Fear not -
With the strength of their remaining schedules, the Gators, Tide and Longhorns just need to win out to reach the BCS title game on Jan. 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., according to BCS analyst Jerry Palm.

It took an analyst to cipher that out?
I think most folks assumed at the beginning of the year (counting on the all-but-certain USC lost to inexplicable PAC 10 foe), that an undefeated B12 team would play the winner of the SECCG (barring fluke, of course, as in 2002, when an 8-3 LSU team beat 10-1 UTenn).
Nothing in the Polls or BCS machinations change that….must be pretty dull to be Jerry Palm these days. Of course, not so dull to be oblivious like Frank DeFord

The problem with Mr. DeFord is he first
indicates that Boise is deserving…not when you struggle against UC Davis. Next!

We all knew that we'd be #3
and low in the computer rankings, but I was encouraged by the separation between us and #4. This validates that win out and we’re in. An undefeated Boise St, Cincy or Iowa will not make up that gap if we win, even if we win ugly. One-loss USC wasn’t even in the top 5, so there’s no chance they catch us either.

Punishment for Programmer
Whoever made the program that put Iowa ahead of Texas should be sentenced to watch every minute, including commercials, of an Iowa vs. Floriday matchup.

Honestly, the computer rankings make more sense
Our premier win is a 3 pointer over a 3-2 ( now 3-3 ) OU team.
The other undefeated teams have as much right to be up there with us.
I think the computers will shake out appropriately as our SoS improves and pretenders like Iowa take a loss.

Not surprising
Our computer rankings are going to be low whenever our SOS is so poor. Add to the weak OOC teams this year, we are hurt by Tech’s loss to UofH and OU’s 2 OOC loses to BYU and Miami.

Computers not nice to Texas!
How about this scenario? Alabama defeats Florida in a squeaker in the SEC Championship game that could have gone either way. Final BCS ratings still have Alabama and Florida ahead of Texas. Will there be a call for a rematch between Florida and Alabama?

Have no fear
Gary Danielson will lead the charge for a possible SEC rematch!
