Mizzou game set for 7pm on ABC
Not sure how I feel I about this. Obviously gives the program some recognition on national television and that always helps with recruits, but could hurt us with pollsters if the offense comes out and lays another egg in the first half. I was hoping for a 2:30 game with regional broadcasts. This also will give Missouri more of a home field advantage. See Tech 2008. But all said I trust our D and we should win this one by double digits and force a few picks by Gabbert.

We could take advantage of it though
if Greg Davis and company wake up and get the offense going. If we beat Mizzou by 2-3 scores on National TV……. But I see your point.
Gotta tell you though, I find myself hoping more for Defensive performance. I am falling in love with taking pride in our D. I love that they have swagger again. I love the turnovers caused, the hard hitting, and the DE’s constantly in the backfield. I hope the offense gets going, but I hope even more that the defense KEEPS going.

no need to be afraid that we are on tv
That’s where Texas games should be. If we really are the #3 team in the nation, we shouldn’t be worried to let pollsters see us.
We could come out and do what we did last season
We have nothing to hide any more :)
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Can we please, please stop worrying about the pollsters?
I’m so sick of it. We control our own destiny. There is no way in hell that we go undefeated, win the Big XII championship, and get passed up for Cinci, Boise, or Iowa. Not possible. It just isn’t. If we win every game from here on out by one point, we’re in the NC game. Think about it. We’ve played way below everybody’s standards, and we’ve fallen to (oh my god) #3! And the two teams above us must play each other if they don’t lose, so there is no way we can pass either of them right? The rest of the unbeatens will be happy with a BCS berth for their troubles, and no way a 1-loss anybody moves ahead of unbeaten Texas.
If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!

If its our destiny then we don’t control it.

I'm not worried about pollsters
but I more or less look at the fact that we are going to be playing on national television and another stinker by the offense will just give the talking heads more ammunition. I want us to look our best when we are on the big stage. Yes, I know that if we win out then we are in, but I still want to look good in the process and if we’re not looking good I would just assume be on versus. When I tied the knot with my wife did that mean I should stop caring about my appearance because I was now married? Of course not!
Of course playing well is better than not playing well
But my point is that how well we play is completely irrelevant. The talking heads can call us the worst undefeated team for all I care, as long as we keep winning.
If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!
Don't forget the 2002-03 version of Ohio State....
They won, but they won ugly every game. Then they won the NC Game in the Fiesta Bowl against Miami. As long as they keep winning it’s fine.
Play like you mean it...
This is the very...
fearfulness that I bitched about on the main-page thread (the post-game reaction). The conservative and timid attitude by which Mack and Greg operate permeates all aspects of the team, including its fanbase. I want coaches who perpetuate an attitude toward the players and fans that we should be televised in national prime-time every week.
All aspects?
Not so fast my friend. “Conservative” and “timid” are not words ever associated with Coach Boom or anyone who plays for him.

For those of us...
…in the provinces of Longhornlandia, I am delighted to see a national broadcast.
Hook'em!!
Guess Okie State Won't be the ABC Game After All
That game seemed like the obvious choice for an ABC night game as opposed to this one. Looks like they will go with USC-Oregon next week.

Delighted to see us get the night game for Mizzou..
as opposed to an 11am early start……….that would guarantee us another slow start. I think this will be a behind the woodshed game where Texas puts it all together and rolls impressively on national TV.
And as a father with two kids……….I’m even more happier that there’s a chance the Texas – Okla St. game may not be on halloween night. Now the USC-Oregon game is a split-national game, so they could concievably still make this a night game….but I’m hoping for the 2:30 kickoff
Regional?
Are you kidding? What about us faithful that are out of region that did not buy Gamecast? Plus even if we did get it there no is high def broadcast unless you have satellite. Its time for GD to and Mack to start showing swagger on offense like Pete C. and company.
There very fact that the game is featured in prime time is acknowledgement that Texas is legitimate at 3. Its sort of an endorsement by by ESPN. If we win we are likely featured the following week during prime time too and being on the road at night before OSU isn’t a bad thing either.
Texas - Okla St set for 7pm.
dang it!!!
No trick or treating for my kids!!!
