"Like all of you, I felt awful on Sunday. I licked my wounds by reading a book by Winston Churchill on the history of the Second World War. One of the things Churchill talked about was having a resolve to win. A resolve to not panic. A resolve to fight the enemy on the beaches, fight them in the fields, and so forth. That's what we have to do here at Texas A&M. We have to resolve not to panic. We have to resolve to win. We have to resolve to not make hasty short term decisions that will negatively impact our long term goals. We will do that."

A&M pulls a successful retreat (aka Dunkirk)
While being destoyed by the K State war machine and down 59-0, A&M head football coach Mike Sherman conducted a successful rescue mission and ordered his troops to retreat. Jerrod Johnson, Von Miller & the rest all snuck out of Manhattan, Kansas, while the game was still being played.
In their place, Sherman had waterboys, managers and fans pose as A&M players. This skeleton crew managed to outscore K State 14-3 the rest of the way, finalizing Sherman’s success retreat.
“We shall live to fight another day,” Sherman declared. “Better get your licks in now.”
Hahahahahahahaha. Speaking of getting your licks in....
“Now, some of the suggestions you have made about me are physically impossible, but we read them none-the-less. I appreciate your passion.”
