OSU/UT predictions?
The Texas defense is one of the best in the country. Plenty of posts on BON support that sentiment so there is no reason to restate facts. OSU is coming in a reverse poor man's version of Texas - Their offense is solid and their defense is shakey. The only major difference is that we have the skilled position players to take a good offense to great in nothing flat whereas the OSU defense is what it is. With that said, adding in the fact that Texas can literally score from anywhere at any point of the game, but subtracting for a rowdy home crowd on a Halloween night in Stillwater, and you get a 45-24 Texas win. And one step closer to Pasadena!
Hook 'em!
PS Since it will be a "blackout" in Stillwater in terms of the student section, I am now conflicted as to my gameday attire of my black #20 Campbell Jersey & may have to make a gametime decision! I hope the only thing perplexing about my weekend in Stillwater is fashion and not the football being played Saturday night!

I think 24 points is too generous for OSU. I haven’t seen their stats, but I don’t think the OSU offense is head and shoulders above TTech, OU, or Mizzou.
I think it is more likely to be about 42-16 myself. Probably a slower start than the Mizzou game, which keeps it close but doesn’t make anyone feel like we are in danger of losing (like CU). All cylinders start firing, and we pull away by the end of the game.
26-17
Tough defensive battle, osu is able to run the ball and keep things interesting, a couple of big plays from the Horns offense and defense are the difference. Hunter Lawrence continues to be a baller.
30-20 Texas
giving OSU some credit here, but if Texas plays like they did @ Mizzou last week, they’ll be no stopping the horns.
BZ?
Is that really you? I’m looking back at this post if you’re anywhere close and will tip my hat to you.

a few years ago....
I predicted a seemingly ridiculous victory over Oklahoma State in basketball (85-60) and it turned out to be quite prescient (we won 83-54). I know what you’re thinking…did you search for a long time for a comment you made over 2 years ago that any other normal person would have forgotten the moment they wrote it? Yes. Yes I did.
Anyway, that’s the impetus for the 70-3 prediction. That and the fact that I’m not really worried at all about the game. 70-3. Mark it down, Dude.
hilarious
love it. hope you’re right.

Please don't misunderstand my question...
I wasn’t mocking you and I hope you’re right too…I would love to see it happen…This would be the separation we need from the peleton of BCS contenders.
It would also give us another look at Trevor Walker and Brock Fitzhenry with a little more Berryhill to boot.
Last time we did that to a team, they lost a coach and fell into an abyss.
So dude, consider it marked. :)
Close, It's Gonna be Real Close.
Oklahoma State has been mediocre against good teams. The only wild card is the “Texas Tech Effect” (i.e. biggest game in school history mood). Don’t underestimate the raw adrenaline that comes from such a big game. I expect a hard first half for our defense, but for us to put it away in the fourth.
In-VINCE-able.
Yeah
This is about how I see it too. There’s no underestimating that ‘biggest game ever’ energy they’ll be bringing. All dressed up and looking like something from a longhorn’s worst nightmare… I’m hoping some solid defense early and maybe a quick score or two will negate most of that though.

Come on, people, this is a game against Oklahoma State!
Haven’t you learned anything from this past decade?
Oklahoma State will take a 47-0 lead into the fourth quarter, but Texas will score six touchdowns, covert six two-point conversions and recover five onside kicks in the fourth to win 48-47.

The Choke factor is definitely there...
…so if we’re down by halftime I won’t be too worried.
In-VINCE-able.
I meant by OSU
Geez, i can’t type a coherent thought all day today…
In-VINCE-able.

I agree - a win is a win...
I just think OSU will score a few points late in mop-up. The Texas defense and a steady does of CJ & Fozzy will keep us in the driver’s seat the entire game. Plus, I think Colt has another solid game to at least get his name put back in the Heisman race.
I'm getting a 42-17 vibe
Texas starts well, goes up by 14-21 but then Colt throws a pick and Texas goes into halftime up 21-7. Texas stays strong though and adds a few more scores. OSU gets ten points in garbage time.
Close, close game. And only because it's in Stillwater.
Horns score early, OSU adjusts, sneaks a TD or two in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, Horns score furiously late to put it away.
My guess? 27-17, Horns.

Can you pick it up on ESPN360? They should carry it live shouldn't they?
Don’t have to worry about the switch that way?
They didn't last week. It was blacked out on the game plan since it was on ABC
but when they switched it took 30 minutes before they made the game plan channel available. I watched it on some internet link until it was too busy with longhorn fans across the country who were also pissed off that ABC switched the game. Last week it was not on the 360 live feed.
It will be on either ABC or ESPN2, toggled with the Oregon/USC game.
They won’t be switching off of the game because both games are being broadcast nationally.
Truly a Muschamp Measuring Stick
Here’s a quote from dimecoverage’s “Cowboy Round Up-OSU Preview” post
Bill Haisten: Clearly, Oklahoma State’s upset bid centers on its ability to run the football. Entering last season’s OSU-Texas game in Austin, the Longhorns were No. 2 nationally in rushing defense. Texas had allowed only 48.1
rushing yards per game. OSU rushed for 217 yards (5.9 per attempt). Kendall Hunter ran 161, averaging nearly 9 yards per carry. Hunter’s status remains uncertain for Saturday because of a foot injury, but the Cowboys have continued to run effectively (a 163-yard average in three Big 12 victories).
This is not last year’s team and Coach Boom has the Goon Squad saturated with koolaid. Similar stats to last year regarding our defense, but a striking difference in mojo. Our offense has to keep the ball and score TD’s. The D-needs to start early in this one and set the tone loud and clear. Do not allow an opening drive for a score.
Special teams could be huge again.
35-7 Texas
42-17
I’m echoing notofst’s prediction
I’d be happier with 45, though because we all want Hunter to keep the rust off his foot.

No Black...
I say don’t wear your black jersey. Black is one of their colors after all and why would you want to blend in with a bunch of okies? Wear either your Texas Orange or White…the Team will be in White…
I’m thinking TEXAS-42 osu-21
TEXAS, TEXAS Yee Haw!

Texas wins the coin toss
elects to be on offense first, uses the two minute drill to race down the field and go up 7 to 0. This sets the tone and Texas wins 38 to 17.
Agreed...
Pic 6 by AJ on OSU’s first O series suits me just as well.

I see this as a close game like OU
but with more scoring
Something like last years score of 28-24 Texas.
Colt McCoy and the offense only need to score 10
The D and/or Special Teams score at least once as well.
Texas: 47
OSU: 17
35-21
In Stoolwater!!!! Wear burnt orange or white!!! You don’t want to blend in with okie lite!!!?!?!!?
27-20
OSU will be 10 down for most of the game.
they score a last minuet td to make it look closer than it ever was.
Not a damn person
said 52-10. I’m very disappointed in all of you.
Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.
