Who to root for more...

Arkansas or Miami?

If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!

by circa1015 on Oct 3, 2009 6:34 PM CDT reply actions

Easy: Miami. Better to watch OUsucks lose to a team coming off an embarrassing upset than to watch a2m lose to an ess eee see team.

by burntorangehorn on Oct 3, 2009 6:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Also, who can really cheer that much for Arkansas?

Thanks for open up this thread, BZ

Wow, what a great day of college football! Michigan/Michigan State OT, tight game with Georgia/LSU and the Huskies/Irish OT….Not bad to stay home in a rainy day from Austin.

thanks

boy, I think that kid is way better then Snead.

by TexasGarcia37 on Oct 3, 2009 6:57 PM CDT up reply actions

But does he have NFL measurable? That is all that matters to some people.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 6:59 PM CDT up reply actions

He’s athletic and has a very good arm. I think his measurables would be the least of any possible problems they might find with him.

by burntorangehorn on Oct 3, 2009 7:01 PM CDT up reply actions

But why would Carroll compares to him with VY is beyond me, though.

by Horns98 on Oct 3, 2009 7:23 PM CDT up reply actions

What an amazing pass!

There is no way Tebow, McCoy, or Bradford could have made that throw. Right, John L!

by TexasGarcia37 on Oct 3, 2009 7:01 PM CDT up reply actions

Arkansas

Looking like a team with a losing record right now.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 7:00 PM CDT reply actions

a&m band

are they all webelos scouts?

by andmyster on Oct 3, 2009 7:01 PM CDT reply actions

If A&M wins

Do all white uniforms become a tradition?

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 7:02 PM CDT reply actions

There is the A&M defense we all know and love.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 7:03 PM CDT reply actions

I think they will score a lot this year. They have been good at recruiting on O-side of the ball. But other than Miller, I don’t know who they have on defense.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 7:06 PM CDT up reply actions

What the hell

how does OU make everything look so god damn easy

Look out...

OU scores on this drive, the dreaded U may just roll over

Disciplina Praesidium Civitatis.

by zamm on Oct 3, 2009 7:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Yep

OU is at its best when it gets a lead and can run up on a team that has rolled over even a tad bit.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 7:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Big 12...

Alright, on an off week, it means we have to cheer for our Big 12 cohorts (including A&M and gulp OU…) so that the Big 12 is stronger = our strength of schedule is stronger and also, the more Top 25 teams are Big 12 teams = the more Top 25 teams we beat = we look even awesomer and when it comes down to it, they will KNOW we go to the title game (assuming there are more then 2 undefeated teams at the end of it…). It’s a hard pill to swallow, I know, I hate OU as much as the rest of y’all….Ok, we don’t have to cheer for OU, but definitely A&M.

They won’t start falling without a loss, I don’t think. The other teams from #4 and lower are all very iffy.

by burntorangehorn on Oct 3, 2009 8:27 PM CDT up reply actions

Broyles in Locker room

Best returning receiver they have.

by cj43 on Oct 3, 2009 8:22 PM CDT reply actions

...

how bad did it look?

by brownf on Oct 3, 2009 8:27 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, I missed that. Had to do some daddy stuff. What happened to Broyles?

by burntorangehorn on Oct 3, 2009 8:28 PM CDT up reply actions

A&M

Dumb idea to play the Pigs in Dallas. Jerry Jones just set this up so that Arkansas can have a big presence and recruit the Dallas area. We really want an SEC team picking off good recruits. The Land Thieves are already there.

Leave it to Aggies to have this concept go right over their heads.

by dimecoverage on Oct 3, 2009 8:32 PM CDT reply actions

Any kind of exposure for A&M is what they are after...

Good or bad. Atleast everyone will know they still have a football team now.

by cj43 on Oct 3, 2009 8:39 PM CDT up reply actions

They only have 9 more years of this.

A&M may have to pump up there early season schedule sooner than later.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 8:40 PM CDT up reply actions

So JJ isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread

What happened John Lopez? I guess one aggie homer should wait until the kid plays some real competition.

by TexasGarcia37 on Oct 3, 2009 8:37 PM CDT reply actions

But... but... he has a good family!

maybe Lopez should’ve just stuck to that, rather than trying to wildly exaggerate the play of some guy he knows personally. Completely ruined his article.

by goingforthecorner on Oct 3, 2009 8:42 PM CDT up reply actions

but if you read the comments

the aggies say that it doesn’t matter that he is basically a member of that family.

by TexasGarcia37 on Oct 3, 2009 8:45 PM CDT up reply actions

Doesn't matter that he's friends with the family

It does matter that he didn’t disclose that fact so his readers could determine for themselves how objective he is likely to be. That’s what bothered me about it. He goes off about how biased every sports media outlet in Texas is towards UT, and then he writes a hard-sell piece like that about a kid to whom he is practically a surrogate father and doesn’t even bother to mention his close, personal relationship with him.

by bassale47 on Oct 3, 2009 8:56 PM CDT up reply actions

i knew i shouldve started drinking earlier!! 2 shots of Tito’s and….situation improving.

by drbadass on Oct 3, 2009 8:57 PM CDT reply actions

OU's non-conf road record

is the reason why I was very skeptical of their chances. I knew it would be close at least.

by goingforthecorner on Oct 3, 2009 8:59 PM CDT reply actions

Unbelievable, how pathetic is A&M's defense!?

there was no defender in sight!

Aggie gets a FG, Arky counters with a TD. Not a way to lead a comeback.

37-13 Razorbacks

by goingforthecorner on Oct 3, 2009 9:01 PM CDT reply actions

Mallett throws probably the easiest TD pass in his life

no defender close to the receiver. Aggie’s secondary is awful. If Von Miller can’t get to the QB, they are in trouble.

by goingforthecorner on Oct 3, 2009 9:03 PM CDT up reply actions

Crowd is really loud @ Miami

hostile crowd. Their D is stepping up big time. Ah shit, called for pass interference.

by goingforthecorner on Oct 3, 2009 9:04 PM CDT reply actions

Wasn’t a player shot while at Miami? Guns trump screwdrivers.

by dimecoverage on Oct 3, 2009 9:27 PM CDT up reply actions

How effect do you think bradford will be

when he plays us, with only next weeks game under his belt???

by JBHOOKEM22 on Oct 3, 2009 9:14 PM CDT reply actions

i've been wondering this a while

I’d assume that Sam will play next week— if so, I say he’s 99% for the RRS

however, if he doesn’t, you’ve gotta wonder how long it’ll take him to get up to game speed.

The truth is though, if he starts, he will not get pulled, regardless of struggles. He is a Heisman winner. Plus, the trademark Stoops Hubris wouldn’t allow it.

by drbadass on Oct 3, 2009 9:19 PM CDT up reply actions

yea

I wonder how much pressure we can get on him to, bc if we get after him that rust could def show

I thought Dom Franks was the best D Back in the country.

or so i remember hearing from some gooners early in the season

by drbadass on Oct 3, 2009 9:25 PM CDT reply actions

There are countless reasons to criticize Stoops, but that’s not one of them.

by burntorangehorn on Oct 3, 2009 9:29 PM CDT up reply actions

Gotta agree

Bradford would’ve been the third QB drafted, maybe middle of the first round. Can’t blame Bradford for coming back when he’s got 2 years of eligibility left.

by 40AS on Oct 3, 2009 9:31 PM CDT up reply actions

How does a brand new offensive line impact his draft stock?

It’s pretty safe to say it would make his performance look worse than last year, and as we can see this year, his O-line cost him an injury. Bradford/Gresham should’ve left with their O-line.

by goingforthecorner on Oct 3, 2009 9:32 PM CDT up reply actions

All the stories coming out of Norman say that Bradford made up his own mind about staying. He is a solid individual and student and came back for a championship.

by dimecoverage on Oct 3, 2009 9:32 PM CDT up reply actions

cameron kenney

this is the first time i’ve seen him have an appreciable impact this season, which is surprising considering we’ve heard he’s THE BEST WALK ON EVER AT OU, EVER

by drbadass on Oct 3, 2009 9:28 PM CDT reply actions

juco transfer, yes. He’s actually pretty decent, but he’s getting more looks than usual because of whatever happened to Broyles.

by burntorangehorn on Oct 3, 2009 9:30 PM CDT up reply actions

kinda figured.. btw

did you see what the injury was to broyles? / how severe?

by drbadass on Oct 3, 2009 9:30 PM CDT up reply actions

No idea, unfortunately. I want OUsucks to lose, but I don’t mind seeing Broyles doing his thing otherwise.

by burntorangehorn on Oct 3, 2009 9:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Heard Broyles is out of the game on the radio

Still didn’t hear what the injury was. Anybody know?

Big picture

what’s the general take on OU now that they’re playing a real team?

It seems we’re seeing appearances of that inexperienced o-line tonight.

Something our D-Line can jump on? how does Miami’s compare to ours?

by drbadass on Oct 3, 2009 9:43 PM CDT reply actions

Ours can definitely jump on it. OU is running a lot of short passes and screen to try and counter. Their run game look decent.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 9:44 PM CDT up reply actions

For once the transitive property seems to work here

Miami beat FSU who beat BYU who beat OU

Maybe OU really isn’t any better than these teams. But… they beat Idaho St. 62-0!!! Certainly they deserve some votes for that game.

you know what else? i fucking hate them

Disciplina Praesidium Civitatis.

by zamm on Oct 3, 2009 9:45 PM CDT up reply actions

I think we'll win RRS by 2 TD's

Our D-line is way better (and way deeper) than Miami’s. The passing game can’t carry the offense any more, so take away the run and they stall.

If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!

by circa1015 on Oct 3, 2009 9:45 PM CDT up reply actions

Also, Landry definitely does not get to run same offense as Bradford. Much more conservative play calling.

by JohnsonUT on Oct 3, 2009 9:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Jacory killing them on the underneat stuff

If OU is not capable of covering the dink n dunk stuff as it appears tonight then they’re gonna have a hrd time wiht tx’s offense for sure.

Additionally, the o line looks really weak.

ou’s only chance is if it turns into a defensive struggle

by andmyster on Oct 3, 2009 9:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Miami ranked 85th in the country in sacks comming into the game..

They have some speed but nothing like the experience and talent of our dline.

Is this the same UTEP

that let Berryhill run all over them?
I’m a clusterfuck of confusion. This is worse than Florida St.’s “identity”

I thought I was seeing things

but yes I did. With that, the awesome commentary by the guys in the booth….this was just as good as any OU loss. Great day for a bye week.

42 points scored in the 4th quarter alone

Exposed today:

Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Houston
(and possibly Texas Tech and Oklahoma State by association)

Considering that all Texas has to do is run the table to get to the title game, today has made me breathe a lot easier.
