UT on Above the Law
UT football on Above the Law. I bet a lot of fellow attorneys / law students have checked this out.

So I take it law students are better than everyone else?
There seems some little sense of entitlement that justifies a law student in any fight. After all they know how to sue someone.
I say if you throw a ball at someone’s head, you take the shot in the mouth and walk away with your pride intact (even if your lip is not).
That should be the end of it.

I f-ing hate Above the Law.
And I’m it’s exact target demographic. The only thing it’s good for is holding firms accountable publicly for the way they treat their associates, which deters them from giving under-market bonuses or conducting “stealth” layoffs.
But since David Lat left, the writing is terrible, there’s not really any identity or guiding force behind the blog other than “oooh, latham laid off 9,000 attorneys 2 minutes ago, oooh!” And the commenters are worse than any sports messageboard.

It's disgusting
The blog itself is horrible, for all the reasons you listed (and more), and if you’re masochistic enough to peruse the comments sometime, prepare yourself for the mental anguish you will suffer.
You ain't hurt.

Agreed, completely.
Anytime a blog is forced to “hide comments for your protection”, it’s a sign that you’ve found the fetid warrens of the internet.
There are too many quality legal blogs to waste time on Above the Law.

The only quality blogs are about the Horns
I find I’m too busy practicing law to actually read any blogs about the law. I only have limited time for internet procrastination, and that time is devoted exclusively to Texas football (and basketball).
Unfortunately, I did read the Above the Law article, and the comments, and I then I went to poke my eyes out.

One of the upsides of still being in Law School, I suppose
Though lately, I’m pretty must limited to Tax Notes and Tax Prof Blog for my extracurricular legal readings.

I love how so many comments characterize Vaccaro’s response as the violent behavior of the stereotypical, out-of-control jock.
What a bunch of douches. I regularly meet law students whose noses I would love to break, but these kids…

I predicted...
…some UT Law student would rush to their keyboards to furiously send it a “tip” to ATL about this incident.
I get really, really, really annoyed when people rush off to send ATL stories about stuff like this…
