awesome, means we get ucla later in the year at home
it’ll much better prep us for aggie
as opposed to tech will
and it’ll roll together with okie lite
all 3 teams will probably play similar styles of football
This assumes that UCLA's still coming
Nothing’s posted on MBTF about this yet, so I’m not sure what the deal is.

Several points about this
1. Texas has not finalized its schedule, or at least not to the point where they’ll announce it. Mack Brown was not pleased when a question about the rescheduling was put to him Wed. afternoon. He did admit it was a possibility.
2. The UT and UCLA websites continue to list Sept. 18 as the date they’ll play; Tech’s site has UT visiting Lubbock that day.
3. Playing TCU (for the Longhorns) was never in the cards. The Tech-TCU game was pushed into the future, as was the case when Arkansas asked out of this year’s meeting with the Longhorns in Fayetteville.
4. I doubt TCU’s strength this year had anything to do with Tech shifting that game to 2011 or beyond. The chance for big TV dollars and national exposure in a setting the Red Raiders feel they can win (Texas, at home, early, with UT breaking in a new QB) was attractive enough to ask TCU to move the game.
5. Weber State is the game Tech added; that school has not announced a 2010 meeting with Tech.
6. Longhorns can play UCLA the following week, Sept. 25, if Texas can relocate its scheduled Sept. 25 game with Florida Atlantic. UT currently has open dates Nov. 20 (the former Tech date, five days before playing Texas A&M) — and Oct. 9, the week AFTER the RRS (it’s Oct. 2 next year; bizarre, it having been played Oct. 17 this season).
FAU move
That might work, assuming the Sun Belt hasn’t already set the conference schedule. Nationalchamps.net doesn’t list any games for FAU for Oct. 9th or Nov. 20th yet.

We lost our chance to play TCU in this shuffle....
Not exactly what I thought would be SOS but oh well.

My thoughts?
I love how a schedule that consists of SMU, UNM, upstart Houston, and FCS Weber St, is considered a “solid non-conference slate.” But my favorite part was this:
The Red Raiders will host FCS member Weber State (Nov. 20), currently ranked No. 19 in the latest FCS poll.
Who cares what they’re ranked in the FCS polls? It seems to me as if they moved the TX game and dropped TCU and picked up either Weber St or Houston. If I were a Tech fan, or a computer , I’d rather see TCU on the schedule.
hahahhah +1

I would have much rather played TCU than Weber St.

I think the truth is Tech had miscalculated how good TCU was going to be when they scheduled this game earlier, now that you have seen TCU this year your pirate coach has chickened out and he doesn’t want to see TCU make the fat little Tech coeds cry. LOL!!
Are we sure that this wasn't Texas idea to move the game up in the season?

funny
how he is making fun of YOUR “fat little coeds”. Apparently he’s never seen the typical Aggie woman.
Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.
Corn-fed
And not in a good way. Also, unattractive. I grew up mostly in Kansas, and around there it’s KU:KSU::UT:atm in terms of both female populations and school quality.

Don't Likey
I was really looking forward to UT/UCLA game that weekend.
I wanted TCU
Weber State? How about Odessa Permian or Midland Lee? Probably draw a bigger crowd. These ESPN guys are WAY too big for their britches.
