2010 Commits in the Playoffs
A breakdown of the 2010 football commits who will begin play in the playoffs this week. I believe that out of the 20 commits, only John Harris won't be participating, as Naaman Forest lost an elimination game last week.
Also, keep an eye on the matchup between Plano West and Cedar Hill -- Jackson Jeffcoat plans on taking his official visit to Austin next weekend, but may not be able to make it if West manages to pull the upset on the undefeated Longhorns.
[Update]:Reggie Wilson and the Haltom Buffaloes were eliminated Thursday night by Arlington Martin, 50-6, ending Wilson's high school career. The star defensive end will enroll at Texas for the spring semester.
Taylor Bible's Denton Guyer squad beat Saginaw Boswell, 59-28. 2011 quarterback JW Walsh had a 34-yard touchdown run and finished with 12 carries for 115 yards and another rushing touchdown.
Lake Travis beat Crocket 58-7 and may face Malcolm Brown's Steele squad if they win this week.

Sorry for Wilson's Team
But it’s good to hear he’s coming in the spring. Do you know how many are scheduled to me on campus then?
I read somwhere that Hicks could be an early reigistration as well if he choses UT. He might want to get away from the scoffers in Ohio.
A great group of winners none the less.

Can't remember any over than Wilson
though I imagine there will be a couple.
As far as Hicks, whether he enrolls early depends on a couple of factors: 1) if he leaves the state, his mother and sister, who plan to move with him, may not have time to relocate in a short period of time and 2) he’s still talking about playing basketball and his senior season will be his last opportunity to play competitively. Basketball was the first love for Hicks, as he only came to appreciate football as much a little later in his life.

That's right...
I remember hearing about the basketball thing. I’m sure he stays then and finishes the year. I get nervous about him because we had him here so early. I really like the fact he was here for 3 days though and stayed that Monday. I know it was as good a visit as we could expect, just would like to get this one for many reasons. Top tier national recruit not from Texas, makes Muschamp a recruiting threat, and gives us a front seven defensive recruiting class for the ages. Add Jeffcoat to that mix and it’s lights out.

Interesting question
Looking over the list, I do kind of wonder which guys one would most want on campus for spring drills. Wilson’s great news, because I’d like the coaches to evaluate him in practices and decide where to groom him to play ASAP. I can’t help but think he’ll be the next end to be moved inside to play where Houston is now.
Others: I think most people want Bible on the team ASAP. He seems like a great candidate to get lots of rotation time behind Randall.
With the loss of at least three starters on what is already likely the weakest unit on the team (OL), it couldn’t hurt to have Hopkins and Espinosa in there right away, although it seems very unlikely that true freshmen would compete for starting jobs with Hix, Huey, Allen, Snow, Mitchell, Poehlmann, Walters, Kelly, Porter, and Ashcraft. That’s a long list, and you’d think they’d go to the guys with the experience over the brand-new freshmen, but being on campus this spring certainly couldn’t hurt Espinoza and Hopkins’ chances.
