Both losing would be awesome
Shut the SEC out of the title game entirely.

Yip
Just coming here to post that. Farking Allen Bradford needs to stop pretending to be a running back.

That's Toby Gerhart
He’s a beast. Luck’s just a freshman, but he can keep a defense like USC’s honest with the pass or tuck and run.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 3:42 PM CST up reply actions
Who Luck? Or Gerhart?
Gerhart’s 6’1" 235lbs. I think. Luck’s a prototypical QB size…which, of course, isn’t that different from prototypical TE size.

Watching Florida...
I think that they would have problems moving the ball on Texas.
I’m not super impressed with their tackles.

BYU
up by only 4 pts to possibly the worst team in the nation. about a min in 3rd
by Infield Elephant on Nov 14, 2009 3:35 PM CST reply actions
How many losses is it going to take to knock USC permanently out of the BCS picture?
They’re at 11 now even with the two losses. A third loss will knock them down again, but they’ll creep up if they win their last two, and they only need nine wins and a top-14 ranking.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 3:44 PM CST reply actions
Right, but USC's a bigger draw for an at-large berth than BSU or Pittsburgh
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 3:49 PM CST up reply actions
It'd be great to see USC knocked down to 8-4 by 'Zona
Or heck, 7-5 after Stanford, UCLA, and then ’Zona.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 3:51 PM CST up reply actions
totally possible too
I would say they have the adv being at home in the last 3, but apparently doesn’t do much for them today. AZ could mess them up pretty good.
by Infield Elephant on Nov 14, 2009 3:53 PM CST up reply actions
Thought Stanford...
Would give them grief. USC is just too young. I love TX chances against either FL or Bama.

B-b-b-b-but Barkley's awesome!
I think he and Forcier are exhibit A and B in the case against relying on true freshmen at QB. Not an issue for UT, of course, provided Colt remains healthy.

I can't believe
next week will be the last home game of this season. For some reason, I feel that not many home games this year. It prolly because most of the time, I joined my friends’ tailgate party on the parking lot more than I spent time in the DKR stadium.
Also, the Dallas game counted as a home game
So that’s one less conference game than in alternating years.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 4:13 PM CST up reply actions
When did they start
To turn into Techo and Trance music for the crowd? I can’t believe they don’t play some country music for the crowd?
That's a fairly common song
I think it’s Sandstorm by Darude. It’s been around about a decade. Anyway, I’m sure they do play some country at some schools, but country music by male vocalists is dropping a lot in popularity with younger crowds.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 4:17 PM CST up reply actions
It's fairly uncommon for female-vocalized music to be played at football events
So it’s down to male for the most part. And while I don’t know much about country (can’t stand any of it, except for ancient Hank and Willie type stuff), I do know that the female-vocalized section of country is a lot more popular right now, Chesney notwithstanding.

by Infield Elephant on Nov 14, 2009 4:48 PM CST reply actions
If it stands as scores are now...
…it’ll be like this going into next week:
Nebraska 4-2 6-3
Kansas State 4-3 6-5
Iowa State 3-4 6-5
Colorado 2-4 3-7
Missouri 2-4 6-4
Kansas 1-5 5-4
That’s a weird look. I’m pulling for KU to beat Nebraska, though. KU needs the win for bowl eligibility, and KSU would maintain the lead on Nebraska by a half-game.

How many interception
Tebow has this season? The way Florida plays their game so far, I’m not surprise they may lose to S. Carolina today.
Unless SC keeps doing things like what they just did.
Stupid fumbled snap to as the announcers said, a “phantom QB”
While I feel some indignation about the camoflauge on the SC uniforms...
…I do like putting those values on the nametapes.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 5:03 PM CST reply actions
Just getting a little creative for Veteran appreciation.
Agree the fatigues have to be earned, though. And so do the nametags.
"We don't freestyle Texas Fight, big boy." - Coach Brown
If the entire uni were camo'd, I'd agree ...
but I think they’ve struck a nice balance with the camo and ‘core values’ nametapes. Kudos to whomever put this idea together; too bad only two teams saw fit to do this.
Trees 35-21 with 12:00+ in the 4th. Lovin me some SC losing in the coliseum.
"We don't freestyle Texas Fight, big boy." - Coach Brown
Harbaugh was/is persona non-grata at Michigan
after his “academic” comments a few years ago. Wonder how the UM faithful feels now?
And Stanford scores again on a pick 6!
Love the announcer...
“I do not… believe… he got it”
as Tebow goes down 3 yards behind the first down marker.
Yep, they should play Bama tough.
They have a good defense and hopefully can stop the Bama run. Just if they can put any points on the board.
Dixon ought to run tough
It’ll be an interesting battle to see whether he can circumnavigate Terrence Cody

by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 5:21 PM CST up reply actions
Is it to Tex benefit for Tebow to lose?
Seems like yes especially considering the Heisman
Heisman chances improve with Tebow loss
Shipley and Colt are both in it, though, so there could be a problem with a split. An Alabama loss, or an embarrassing performance or two for Ingram, would seem to put the roomies in the drivers’ seats.

What a great individual effort by the Cock QB for the 1st down. Bingo.
"We don't freestyle Texas Fight, big boy." - Coach Brown

They just did a reply before run to commercial. Two huge defensive backs missed that tackle against Garcia.

Oh man
Sucks for SoCar.
Do my eyes deceive me, or did Stanford voluntarily put in their backup QB for mop-up time against USC? I honestly didn’t think there was any chance of that happening this season. USC should be embarrassed, even if Stanford is decent this season. This is probably the first mop-up duty any QB has done against USC in the better part of a decade.

Oklahoma State has to be happy
They look to jump USC and Miami both this week. Possibly Utah, the OSU-Iowa loser, and maybe more. They could be in the BCS picture after all.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 5:43 PM CST reply actions
Correction:
Okie Lite is currently 19th in the BCS rankings. They could easily jump USC, Miami, the Iowa-OSU loser, Utah (if TCU wins tonight), and they’re almost certainly going to pass Houston.
Less likely possibilities:
Pittsburgh (if ND were to beat them)
Oregon (if AzSU were to beat them)
by burntorangehorn on Nov 14, 2009 5:47 PM CST up reply actions
The only way
S.Carolina can come back to this game is by their D to make play. Let’s hope Tebow throw an interception or someone fumble the ball to get the TD.
wouldnt mind florida to keep on winning
i’d LOVE to be the team to beat tebow in his last collegiate game
everyone (media, nation) can keep slobbing on their knob and we can fly in to pasadena as the underdog
by trueorangeblood on Nov 14, 2009 5:49 PM CST up reply actions
This is true
Especially as our offense starts to establish itself, and Tebow and Co. show how they are defeatable. I feel much better about our chances than I did 8 weeks ago.
Problem:
Urban Meyer is one hell of a coach when it comes to bowl preparation. I don’t think there’s any way they were a better team than Ohio State a few years back, but they were prepared, and Ohio State wasn’t. That’s a concern, even if Florida’s not as good as UT right now.

Also, their coach hopes to put down two QB’s this year.
TEXAS FIGHT
Same
I was kind of disappointed that Colt wasn’t allowed to throw the one more pass that it would have taken to break the 473 record.
TEXAS FIGHT
Not Saying Much
But I have to say the TT defense and running game is as good as I have seen it. If they had their normal offense they would have had a great year.
their tables turned
what they gained in D and rushing, they lost in passing

Play-action passing up 58-10 in the red zone with all starters in and 10 minutes left in the game.
Touchdown OU
Stoops is just preparing for a miracle comeback by the ags.
Kinda funny
The blog at iamthe12thman just goes dead at 21-10 ou. I guess they just all gave up and went to the chicken.
Really? Does my signature suck?

Did Beergut give up after they got down 21-10?
I haven’t seen him post on the game thread since that point..
Someone better contact the authorities.
Beergut may have injured himself so he didn’t have to witness the pain. His loyalty to Aggie would have forced him to watch unless he stopped himself.
Tragic…

And it was horrible!
You could just see him cutting himself as he typed the despair.
I hope he’s okay.

Those Teams Don't Get Enough Credit
Utah beat Bama like a rented mule last year. Boise beat OU. They deserve a chance and a playoff system.
Thought I Saw
Where Las Vegas says that Florida would be 1 point favorite vs. Horns and Horns would be 1 point favorite over Bama. Nice setup for MNC.
Notre Dame Delusional
They think that they should be a national power and the reality is most top athletes don’t want to go to South Bend Indiana in a school that is like 5% female.
There are
just so many options on where to play, most of them more attractive than Notre Dame. It doesn’t matter that they are on NBC exclusively when they don’t play for ’ships. A good recruit these days figures to be on TV no matter where he goes to school.

Frogs
Are playing really well and intense. Speed kills. They will a lot to handle no matter where they end up.

I would kill for a TCU/Texas BCS National Championship game.
It will never happen, but I would love it.

What did they say the spread would be
if Texas played TCU for the NC? I saw it on the screen but can’t remember if it was 8 or 11 points.

Not according to their NCAA 10 simulation
Texas lost that one… and it looked like they were playing in DKR for some reason.
Notre Dame may be coming back

That "fumble" was a shit call
But ND shouldn’t have thought they could keep coming back to win it in the 4th and so stink it up in the other 3 quarters. And even if it was ruled incomplete, they would still have had to go for it on 4th and 16. Jeez.
Show me a man who can lose more than 2 games with Notre Dame's schedule and I'll show you a man with no job.
by HornPossessed on Nov 14, 2009 10:23 PM CST up reply actions
What do you mean?
They play a stout schedule worthy of their own network every year.

Is This Fair?
On “The Lead” on ESPN and ABC – they do not mention that Colt tied the all-time college mark for wins – but do mention that Tebow ties the SEC record for rushing TDs.
ESPN is worthless except for watching games and catching scores
Haven’t you learned that yet?

If ESPN is worthless...
what does that make FSN?

Listen to Dave Lapham high.
Also, listen to Pink Floyd at the same time.
by HornPossessed on Nov 14, 2009 10:32 PM CST up reply actions
They've mentioned the record on the ticker several times.
I don’t know if it was on ‘The Lead’ or not, but I have seen it down there after the score was up on the screen.

No chance of a letdown.
Also, I’m not opposed to letting them play the whole game.

It’s such a horrible crowd.

WOW
All he had to do was slide for 1st down.
I don't think he saw him.
Wall came around a blocked defender and caught him by surprise as Zac thought he had a clear path to the endzone.

With all the Big12 QBs going down
It doesn’t bother me to take out Colt. If we win the championship, the heisman is secondary
really glad to see that kid stand up and walk to the sideline...
these concussion hits are starting to get redundant.
Plus poor clock mgmt
on last couple plays. It seems like they don’t care if they win this game or not…
