Post-Baylor Jordan Shipley Record Watch
In the first installment, Shipley's status on the UT receiving records was as follows:
Receptions:
Most receptions, game: Shipley already owns this with 15.
Most receptions, season: Kwame had 100, and Ship has 75 so far.
Most receptions, career: Big Roy had 241, and Ship has 207 so far.Yards:
Most yards, game: Shipley already owns this with 273.
Most yards, season: Kwame had 1188, and Ship has 1050 so far.
Most yards, career: Big Roy has 3866, and Ship (now 3rd place all-time) has 2756.Touchdowns:
Most TDs, game: McGarity has it at 4
Most TDs, season: Big Roy and Sweed had 12 in one season; Shipley has six so far.
Most TDs, career: Big Roy had 36; Shipley has 28 so far.Misc.:
100-yd. games in a season: Ship has five so far, and the record is seven. If he were to get on a roll, Shipley could own almost every game, season, and career record for catches, yards, and touchdowns. The least likely are the career yardage mark (he’d need more than a thousand yards in five games) and the single-game touchdown mark. And this doesn’t even take into account any all-purpose records he might have.
Post-Baylor, here's how he ranks on the receiving charts.
Receptions:
Most receptions, game: Shipley already owns this with 15.
Most receptions, season: Kwame had 100, and Ship has 81 so far (needs 20 in four games)
Most receptions, career: Big Roy had 241, and Ship has 213 so far (needs 39 in four games)
Yards:
Most yards, game: Shipley already owns this with 273.
Most yards, season: Kwame had 1188, and Ship has 1096 so far (needs 93 in four games).
Most yards, career: Big Roy has 3866, and Ship (now 3rd place all-time) has 2802 (needs 865 in four games). This is almost certainly not going to fall to JS this year; however, he has a very good shot at getting second-place, which is currently 3032 by Mike Adams (needs 231 in four games).
Touchdowns:
Most TDs, game: McGarity has it at 4; hard to say whether Shipley will ever have a shot at this.
Most TDs, season: Big Roy and Sweed each had 12 in a season; Shipley almost tied it with 11 last year, and has eight this season so far (needs five in four games).
Most TDs, career: Big Roy had 36; Shipley has 30 so far (needs 7TD in four games).
So the career receptions, career yards, TDs in a game, and career TDs look like the hardest ones to achieve. Shipley looks almost certain to break all the others.

I personally hope
he goes late first round to the Colts. He would fit the Brandon Stokley type role from previous years and could thrive playing opposite Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark.
The "Big Bang" was actually a Will Muschamp chestbump......with the Earth!
Good Read
Manning knows all about Ship and I bet he has a huge say in that discussion. How cool would it be for Colt and Ship to end up on the same team and under a Peyton Manning tutelage would be insane.

don't know about late 1st
But otherwise, an excellent place for him to go. Thing is, Indy already has Dallas Clark, Reggie Wayne, and Anthony Gonzales, so I think it’s hard to see them putting much of a premium on getting an early receiver.
On the other hand, Indy loves running a 2TE set, and moving one or both of those TEs out to the slot. While they obviously wouldn’t use Ship as a TE, he would be a natural fit split just out from the tackle.
