Is aTm aware that Thanksgiving is two days away?

I was browsing i am the 12th man and was hard pressed to find any mention of a game this Thursday...It seems aTm is happy to review the Baylor game over and over and over.  Is it possible the Aggies are looking past the Horns to their upcoming bowl game in Houston?  Also curious if they'll be taking a bus or taxi to the Texas Bowl? Hook'em Horns...it's 11:47 and OU still sucks!

We call it the quiet before the storm. Infact it might be the hurricane Jerrod!! Be prepared to get blown away.

seriously

this guy can’t be real. the commentary is too childlike even for an aggy.

So...

A bunch of refugees are gonna pack into Kyle Field after their homes (and pride) are destroyed? we should send about 60-70 guys over there to help out in the clean up. Show them what we here at UT are all about, Caring.

I doubt their overlooking

It’s just general incompetence from the aggies who run the site. Plus when you only have 3 readers why rush things? Probably over here posting crowd pleasers like “tu” and “sips” too.

Check out their game threads. It’s the OP posting to himeself 300 times.

Your tongue can't repel flavor of that magnitude!!

To be fair..

a glance at BON’s homepage reveals more Kansas recap than A&M preview, as well. So far, the only thing that feels like A&M week is the thread regarding Aggie jokes.

Forget the 12th Man, where are we???

Just finished reading the aggie jokes

and wondering are the ones about sheep actually jokes if they’re true?

mine was true

it was about sheep…and pigs.

We are a class act

If you go to our blogs you will realize that we are a class act. We are not trashing our big rival tu, unlike the smack talk that’s going on here in BON. But I don’t want to get into this Class-Class less argument, there is enough evidence for everyone to see already. Here you are running a laugh riot writing mean things about your biggest rival in history, and there we are laying down a welcome mat for what is going to be the biggest game of the year for the two teams this season (NC would probably be bigger for tu in terms of status but not in terms of rivalry).

by YUMC on Nov 24, 2009 12:27 PM CST reply actions

Actually, we're laughing at you more than the aggie fan base at large.

They’re strange and kinda funny, but you’re hysterical. In the spirit of the season, thank you.

Short week

Thursday games have a habit of sneaking up on you. Plus, it’s Thanksgiving, and life is interfering with football for most of us.

I have seen a surprising number of predictions from Aggies that have them scoring in the upper 30s and even 40s. I’m just wondering why they think they’re going to score that much on a defense that doesn’t give up 40 points in 3 games, much less 1.

by bassale47 on Nov 24, 2009 12:33 PM CST reply actions

Aggy will always play us tough....

But I’d be surprised if they break 20 points. We’ll probably get a game relatively hard-nosed compared to very recent history…. 31 – 17 or something.

We might get more if Greg develops a solution to a six man blitz against the empty set. With that in mind, I’ll stick with 31.

by Tackchevy on Nov 24, 2009 1:09 PM CST up reply actions

K State beat them 62-14

So I’m gonna say, because its a rivalry game and the Ags will be really pumped up and playing their best game, that they will get 13 points. Let’s call it 52-13… Population of College Station divides in half by the 4th quarter.

Beergut was consorting with the enemy

At DoubleTNation, talking about how great a QB Potts is and how the media loves on UT way too much.

The rivalry situation in the B12 South is pretty hilarious, actually…. Texas hates OU. ATM hates Texas. Tech hates ATM. Baylor hates ATM, so far as their limited potential for real hate. I guess that Texas-OU has mutual animosity, but that’s pretty much it.

by Tackchevy on Nov 24, 2009 12:48 PM CST reply actions

If you did not think of us as rivals then why would you be trying to spy in two different blogs and be interested in finding out what one of the most knowledgeable persons in football had to say about QB of another school?

by YUMC on Nov 24, 2009 12:52 PM CST up reply actions

It's not spying

It’s reading other peoples’ opinions. I do the same thing before every game- even Wyoming. I read the OBNUG blog, for crying out loud. I NEED COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Sometimes, going outside of your box with an open mind can be a good thing, Aggy.

The point of the thread was asking about why there isn’t much on 12th man right now about the game; I’m saying what I’ve seen and running my mouth a little bit extra.

by Tackchevy on Nov 24, 2009 1:03 PM CST up reply actions

Wow seriously

That aggy just got so owned, and has obviously has no response because you were exactly right.

College football is one of the best distractions I have from work and school, and that doesn’t mean we have to limit ourselves to reading just our own fan pages. I enjoy intelligent previews from other pages, that truly showcase class and allow for the possibility of luck in how a football game will finish. Being intelligent and knowledgeable about your opponent means learning from the people who know best, their die hard fans who have been watching every play all season. If you haven’t realized, its a matter of respect that we look at TexAg’s and other such websites. Now tell me how you think your posts while looking at BON is respectful?

by twdaniels on Nov 24, 2009 2:56 PM CST up reply actions

Actually

I don’t go to Texags for anything but laughs. I certainly don’t look for “insight” on anything regarding their football team.

by GoHorns on Nov 24, 2009 3:28 PM CST up reply actions

I don't go there

because I never think about Aggie until this week, except maybe to crack on them a little with my buddies when I see that they got raped by K State or beaten by the worst Colorado team in decades. They are one of the worst teams in our conference. I know that they think we are really big rivals (and historically this may be true) but really, if they beat us I would think of it like getting beaten by Iowa State or Baylor. The only difference is that Aggies would make t-shirts with the score of the game on them.

by 2100 San Jac on Nov 24, 2009 3:49 PM CST up reply actions

Honestly, dude

Calm down. We have a thread for Aggie jokes. You guys call us “tu” and “sips.” Don’t try to act like this is a one way street – I’ve been to TexAgs. I’m still at a loss why you have to pop into every thread making insane predictions about the game. I have actually been looking for an intelligent UT-A&M breakdown from an Aggie perspective. I haven’t found anything close, just crap like “JJ for Heisman!!!” and claims that somehow the 12th man will win it for A&M.

The 12th man can’t cover Shipley and Malcolm Williams.
The 12th man can’t block Sergio Kindle.
The 12th man can’t provide a pass rush.

If you want to talk about the game intelligently, I’d love to hear it. Otherwise, if you really think A&M has a chance, you would save your trash talk for after the game.

by jglowack on Nov 24, 2009 1:15 PM CST up reply actions

This is all they have

They know if they attempted to get into Xs and Os, it would just highlight the reality of the situation, which is bleak for them.

All of their posts are about how much they despise us, which is fine; it is a rivalry game. But don’t show up on a Longhorn site with that garbage and wonder why we don’t embrace you.

by TEXAS_FIGHT07 on Nov 24, 2009 1:39 PM CST up reply actions

I think Beergut is pretty knowledgable. YUMC is going way overboard with the hyperbole though.

The thing holding Beergut’s knowledge back is his bias (it can get crazy at times) and his delivery (he can be really confrontational with it). He knows way more than I do, not that that’s saying much when it comes to football.

This statement is kinda crazy:

most knowledgeable persons in football

This one not as much:

Beergut = Knowledge

You can whine about class all you want but

the fact of the matter is you’re trolling on a Longhorn blog and if you can take a couple of aggie jokes then you should ask your AD to move your dreadfull team down to a FCS league so we can replace you with a real team like TCU

I have also been banned from the IAmThe12thMan blog.

So, Beergut, since you’re here: Screw you. I didn’t post anything particularly nasty or rude. As I recall, I made one post in the “What’s your reaction to the OU game?” thread to the effect of, “My reaction is that you guys suck and we’re going to beat you by 30 points.” Or something similar.

Poof! Banned. Which is good, because definitely what you need over there is fewer participants. You wouldn’t want anyone else to get in the way while you’re posting 300 consecutive times like Brent Musburger with Tourettes.

For my part, I troll at IAmThe12thMan and TexAgs.com for the humor. I have never in my life seen a group as painfully delusional as the aggies. And they’re like compulsive gamblers or alcoholics: They know it’s wrong, they know they shouldn’t be spouting the cult’s propaganda, but they just can’t help it. My brother-in-law does it, and it’s a riot when you see it live and in person. He’ll start to tell me how the aggies are underrated, and overlooked, and how they’re going to sneak up on us, and the whole time, you can just tell by his body language that he wishes he could stop, he wishes he could just make his mouth stop moving, but he can’t. These people are so pissed off that we’re better than them (yes, I said it) that they just cannot handle it in any kind of responsible manner.

Screw ‘em. I hope we absolutely embarrass them on national TV tomorrow night. And I’m not talking about a Mack Brown-level embarrassing; I’m talking about a Bob Stoops-level embarrassing. A Colorado-in-the-Big-Twelve-Championship level embarrassing. I hope Jerrod gets carted off the field in a nice bit of poetic justice. I can’t wait to see the aggie message boards light up after the game with calls for Sherman’s resignation.

I can’t wait.

Really? Does my signature suck?

by adt2 on Nov 25, 2009 11:07 AM CST reply actions

no need to wish harm on a player..

…especially one that had nothing to do w/ Colt’s injury. If you were wishing for the injury of Kellen Heard, or even Martellus Bennett (for calling him that), that would be a different story, MAYBE. No need to go there.

I hope we destroy them, and embarrass them, but all between the legal lines.

by vy til i die on Nov 25, 2009 11:46 AM CST up reply actions

I have been wishing poetic justice on Kellen Heard for some time

As I recall, the only punishment he received was from the officials, who ejected him from the game. Did the school suspend him at all?

by burntorangehorn on Nov 25, 2009 11:55 AM CST up reply actions

Let me explain it thusly:

I am taking the same approach here that the aggies are taking with Colt and the whole “Cart McCoy” thing: I am not hoping for him to get hurt; I am merely hoping that he winds up on a cart on the sidelines. You see the difference there?

Their argument (when you call them out for cheering or mocking an injured player) is that Colt wasn’t really hurt; he was being a pu**y and had to be carted off the field after a legal hit because he was just weak, but if he’d really been hurt, then they would’ve respected and prayed for him.

Bullshit. It was a nasty hit. The only difference I want to see is that we hit JJ legally, and he winds up on the sidelines. If he gets hurt, so be it. Football ain’t a contact sport. Dancing is a contact sport. Football is a collision sport.

Really? Does my signature suck?

by adt2 on Nov 25, 2009 12:05 PM CST up reply actions

The Rivalries were explained to me like this

As a freshman, it was explained to me that the Aggies were like Star Trek’s Romulans and the Sooners were like the Klingon. You ran into the Romulans and had to deal with their crap all to frequently. The Klingons were from far off and just different…unrelatable. Course, that was in the days before the internet.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidexterous.

by ClassofEarl on Nov 25, 2009 11:07 AM CST reply actions

Beergut and YUMC, let's make a deal...

If A&M wins (giggle) I will never watch another Texas Longhorns Football game. If (when) we win, you never watch another Texas A&M game. What do you say?
