Just a though. Hypothetically speaking. If A&M would have won last Thursday, wouldn't it hurt A&M (and Big 12) more by winning the game then losing the game? As far as money A&M would receive by the shared income it would bring in the Big 12 by Texas probably missing out of the National Championship Game if A&M had won? Granting that Texas takes care of business in the next game vs Nebraska. With that said it would hurt the Big 12 and Nebraska by the same token if Texas fails to beat the Huskers.
I'm not trying to start what's better for the coference, but at this point, anything but a Texas win in the Title Game would not only hurt the Big 12, but the other teams as well in form of money and exposure.

From a pure monetary standpoint...
It would be best for the Big12 for Texas to lose to Nebraska. That way the conference recieves an extra $3.75M in bowl money. (An extra $4.5M for a second BCS team, less the loss of the Texas bowl payout.) A&M beating Texas would have had no monetary effect on the conference in the short term.
well....
Isn’t the payout for the NC Game more then the other BCS games even if there are 2 Big 12 teams in the other BCS games? If Nebraska get’s an automatic bid, there’s no guarantee that another Big 12 team will get a BCS game dure to conference ties. Fiesta would get Nebraska by default and the other BCS Bowls have Conference ties other to the Big 12.
If Texas lost the Big 12 Championship
Nebraska would get the Fiesta berth, and Texas would get an at-large BCS berth. Two BCS bowls > one NC game, speaking strictly in the conference-money sense. So yes, the Big 12 would, by your logic, be better off with a Texas loss in the conference championship.
Big 12 marketing standpoint
the most important game is the national championship.

I'm inclined to agree with you
on that point, but I don’t think it’s completely debate-free whether the Big 12 commish would prefer 2 BCS teams or 1 NC team.
Question on the McCoy run:
Anyone know what he had on his iPod playlist while he was doing that bit of cardio?
