Aggie Heckle
There I was at approximately 6:30 pm on the front row of the endzone between the Texas sections at Kyle Field. I had just woken up from a 2+ hour nap on the drive out. My eyes lit up as I realized Aggy (corps and players) would be entering the field through the tunnel adjacent to our seats. I dashed over to the tunnel to observe the opposition entering through the tunnel. Knowing I was in a great position to get in some words with Aggy, and also knowing I would have to endure an earful of the "harshest" putdowns including t.u., t-sips, or whatever else the elementary school children in College Station had come up with for the game, I decided to make my move. To my delight, a one Mister Ryan Tannehill crossed my field of vision, who many at BON may remember lost his QB job to Johnson. My mind made up, and without trepidation the barrage began thusly:
"Hey Tannehill," I shouted and paused for a reaction. As he looked upwards right at me, I added "How does it feel to play wide receiver?" He continued to stare at me for a few seconds after which I flash him the hook 'em sign (I was dressed in a discreet white shirt with a longhorn eblem on the front). As he looked away, I noticed a trainer standing next to him mouthing the words "not cool."
After this a joyous time was had by all in our party as we watched the game. We danced, high fived, cheered for the Horns, and cheered for Erin Andrews each time she crossed the field in front of us. I even wore a fanciful belt to try and draw some comments on my manner of dress from painted overall wearing faux-farmers for the easy retort. For the most part except for some angry jostling caused by smack talking Longhorn fans at the conclusion of the match, the stadium was a hospitable venue.
Anybody else get some words in? Is it ok to heckle opposing fans/coaches/players? What have been some of the best encounters you've had in the past? Here's to hoping we're 100% this weekend. Hook 'em.

Heckling is for baseball
I don’t mind the occasional good-natured jabs between fans in the stands, but I’m an adult, and these are kids playing a game. Heckling them – even the jackasses, and even if it’s a harmless barb, like yours – seems a bit unnecessary.
My Best Heckling Story
As a Longhorn Band member, I got the opportunity to hang out on the sidelines right before and after halftime. This gave me a great opportunity to listen to coaches motivate their players, take some great pictures (see my display pic), and occasionally interact with the players. This was especially fun on TX-OU weekend last year (the 45-35 year) when I happened to be standing next to (read: within two feet of the ear of) DeMarco Murray on the sideline right before the half. We were on our half-ending field goal drive, and as the ball went through the goal posts to make the score 20-21, I was yelling some typical words of Longhorn pride. DeMarco turns around and says, “You all are getting raped.” I say, “Dude, we’re only losing by 1.” He stares at me blankly for 3 seconds, although it felt like an eternity, and blatantly states, “F*ck Texas.” We all know how this story ends, and we will never forget.
I swear on my life this is a word for word transcription of events that transpired on October 11, 2008.
Not that I had much respect for OU at this point, but.......
That’s hilarious…… Murray is a stand up act!! hahaha

That DeMarco story is great, as is your display pic!
Back to the original post, I would hardly call what you said to Tannehill heckling him. So he used to play QB and now plays WR. I don’t follow Aggie ball much, but hasn’t he turned out to be a pretty solid receiver for them?

DeMarco is classless for that and if I were coach and heard him say EITHER...
of those things, he would see the pine.

I'm against heckling,
But if I was on the sideline last year, you bet I’d have heckled the bejeezus out of Stephen McGee.

the only time it is ok to heckle a player is when they act like low-class punks – mcgee’s getting into gideon’s face last year was a disgrace, especially considering (1) mcgee had nothing to do with the play and (2) aggies were getting crushed.

I don't have a problem with heckling...
But I can guarantee you it won’t bother the players. These guys are playing D1 football, while you’re sitting in the stands. :)
