Monday Night Open Thread: Steelers-Broncos, College Hoops(!)
Is there a better sports month than November? Perhaps October, if baseball is your thing, but for a college hoops junkie like myself, this is as good as it gets -- critical college and pro football on the weekends, combined with the return to action on the basketball court. On television tonight:
Monday Night Football: My Steelers take on the Broncos at 7:00 CT (ESPN).
College hoops: The Coaches vs Cancer opening round. SBNation.com has the full rundown of games, including times and TV.
UPDATE: Also, while we're on college hoops, Andy Katz posted a terrific piece on the Horns' scrimmage with Gonzaga. Apparently we won 77-74 and forced gobs of turnovers.

I finally tried the Black Jack Taco Bell taco
Got to tell you, not that good…I was very disappointed. Black tacos don’t really taste any different than yellow tacos, it’s still just all meat on the inside. Plus, Dear Taco Bell, don’t violate my taco by mixing a packet of mild hot sauce with sour cream, calling it special sauce, and drowning my taco in it. If I wanted a cream pie, I would have ordered one.
They say once you go black, you never go back…but that’s not true. I’m going back to yellow tacos or maybe over to Bueno where some genius combined a cheeseburger with a taco. Mmm, cheeseburger taco.
Have a good thread…I hope all your wildest dreams come true.

Are Black Taco's made with blue corn?
Or are they just food coloring?

Haven't eaten Taco Bell in probably five years
But I must say, the ad for the new black taco made me chuckle the first time

Next?
Didn’t they just introduce a red ‘volcano’ taco? What’s next, green?
(What gets me about Taco Bell is that they always seem to be trying to invent new Mexican dishes. Like stuffing a taco inside a burrito or something they call an "Ench-i-rito’.)
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.

Balbay
Saw PB’s post on the starting rotation, but didn’t catch anything on how often Balbay will be used. Avg 21 mins last season – we expect to see anymore of him? I liked what I saw. Naturally I expect Mason to hold his own and probably tear it up, but what’s the skinny on these other guards? I know little to nothing about the handful of freshmen that may platoon behind him.

Have the Steelers given up on Limas?
sadly, can’t say I blame them.

He's prolly done with PIT
On the practice squad at this point, getting beat out by the rookie Mike Wallace out of Ole Miss. Wallace has been awesome, so Limas probably needs to move on, try to stick somewhere else. He had problems with drops that killed him with the Steelers.

That's all I ever saw him do with the Steelers
At least he was getting open.

Any thoughts on why he hasn’t been able to perform like all of us thought he would? I’m not sure I ever expected him to be good enough to be any team’s #1 WR (I did expect this from Roy, and he’s been up and down), but I expected him to be a very solid #2, maybe on the verge of being a #1.
I don’t remember him dropping a lot of balls in college. Am I just glossing over things because of all the good memories?

Mental
He dropped a couple super-easy ones early on, the fans got on him, and it appeared to get in his head. He was doing a good job getting open, but just had a case of the drops he couldn’t shake. When it carried over to this year and Mike Wallace emerged as a burner and playmaker, Sweed’s chance was done.
Tough league.

Needed 16 fantasy pts from Kyle F&*#&! Orton to win
Naturally, he got 5. Dropped from 1st to 4th in my league.
That’s what you get for trusting Neckbeard.

Great basketball stuff
It sounds like the point guard position is really in flux.
These practise games are a great idea. It permits the coach to experimet without having the pressure of wining the game. Too bad the games cannot be televised and openly reported. The nfl has made us aware that preseason games are different from regular games.

PB, if not that much to ask
I hope you will have an open thread for the rest of Titans games. Last week, I called Titans will be from 0-6 to 10-6 team once VY becomes a starting QB again.

Went to a sports bar to watch VY this week so I wasn’t at my computer.
