Good For Texas HS Football
Of the 26 first team Big XII – excluding special teamers – half are from the state of Texas. Incredible.
Exactly...
this is exactly what I was looking at. It is amazing how much talent our state produces year in and year out. I can only imagine if we had unlimited scholarships and every Texas player would stay in state.
May Have to Amp Up the OL Recruiting
7 of 11 OL named on first and second teams played their HS ball in Texas. We only got 1.
Some Real Stunning Disappointments
Leaving Aaron Williams, Sam Acho, Emmanuel Acho, and Hunter Lawrence off the first 2 units was really unfair. Guess it doesn’t matter that much anyway.
Aaron WIlliams didnt even get an honorable mention
And you will get your chance to see those 2 NU DB’s on Saturday, against the 1st Team QB and a 1st Team WR no less!!
To all Houston sports fans, Houston is the 4th biggest city in America, there will be traffic on the way to your respective sports game. Come Early, Be Loud, Stay Late.

You'd think Texas didn't just mow through the conference schedule
Okay, I get leaving off Williams for the Nebraska boys and perhaps some others, but leaving off Sam Acho AND Lamarr Houston is just absurd.
You know, I find it amazing that Texas gets this few all-conference selections, yet is not only the sole undefeated program in the conference, but also the only team in the conference with less than two conference losses and three total losses.

No matter: just take it personally
Let it put a chip on each shoulder, and play like Heisman-snubbed Vince.
I am not surprised
Actually I am not surprised. 8 players in all Big XII is something to be proud of. Texas A&M has only 6 (we are catching up on you). But I totally agree with OU having 11. Looking at the score line of our loss against OU and comparing it to tu, I would say OU deserves more selections.
You also only won 3 conference games
Texas won 8. It is a joke that you have 6 players and Texas only has 8. An utter joke. It is not about talent or who deserves what. That much is clear.
Looking at the scoring line for OU's losses and comparing them to UT's losses...
…I’d say UT deserves more selections.

Classic
Thank you for posting this. Hillarious work.
Looking at the score line of our loss against OU and comparing it to tu, I would say OU deserves more selections.
And in your next post, below:
Also notice that statistics does (sic) not matter.
A whole 8 minutes apart.
If number of players on the All Big 12 team...
Was based on performance against A&M, the entire first team would be Kansas State.
Go back to your shanty.

Statistics do not matter
Also notice that statistics does not matter. A&M defense had the 107th ranked defense in the country , yet we have as many selections in the Big XII defense first team as does Texas.
It is political
It always is with the coaches. See last year’s BCS debacle. These guys can’t beat us on the field, so they’ll find another way to stick it to us.
Texas is running out of reasons to keep supporting the Big 12 with its appeal and money

I wouldn't be against going independent
if we could get the same kind of TV deal Notre Dame has. We’d be practically guaranteed a BCS bowl every year, and we wouldn’t have to split the money with all the lame-ass programs in the Big 12 who don’t carry their weight.
Scheduling would be interesting
Obviously UT would want to keep some annual games, like the RRS, atm, and probably Tech, but it’d be easier to fit in Ark, TCU, and Houston. The one I’d most like to see UT play annually is LSU. I’m trying to think of some other teams whom it would make sense to regularly schedule.

Leave the Big 12
Texas carries the Big 12 in so many ways (financially, bowl game wins, consistent great teams, fan support, tv ratings, facilities….) It’s really sad that most of the Big 12 has such an immature “little brother” complex.
The other Big 12 teams do not offer consistently good competition for Texas and most of them do not play in a respectful way (continually running up scores). A realignment needs to be done or Texas should seriously consider other options.
Just a Dying Clique of Coaches Striking Out
Right now there is a clique of coaches that have worked together that include Stoops, Mangino, Leach, Snyder, Briles. Right now, Mack does not have that same network – but I think he will develop that. Mangino will be gone next year, Snyder the year after – Leach a real wild card that can go anywhere.
Snyder?
I really don’t see how he belongs on that list. Stoops was under him, but he hasn’t really shown any tendency to be a stoopsbag.

Note to Snubbed Longhorns
Congrats to a great season, and BigXII selection means nothing in the larger scheme of NFL opportunities and Conference/National Championships.
As a suggested response, 4 years ago Vince Young felt snubbed for the Heisman Award. He responded by shoving up the collective USC and media arses with horse sized thrusts. I suggest you do the same.
Did anyone happen to catch Brandon Sharpe making the Hendricks award finalist list?
Riiiigggghhhhhttttttt. The AP and the Big XII office can suck it! Sergio got screwed! Hell, put Jeremy Beal up there. The Big xii list continues to disappoint. 2009 is no exception.
