Longhorn Fan Stuck in Alabama Roll Tide Land
Hello fellow Longhorn fans! I hope our team is ready to humliate Alabama! All I hear is how they are going to shut down the McCoy/Shipley combination and that we do not have what it takes to beat them. Alabama fans say Nick Sabin can out think and out maneuver Mack Brown any day. The BS is Deep. Show them what you are made of Longhorns. The Texans here are throwing a Texas a party to watch you win. Hook Em Horns!

Remind them that Mack has already beaten Nick Saban, and that no such coaching advantage exists:

You must be stuck...
In a particularly backwoods part of this state. Most of the folks around me (I’m in Birmingham) are confident in Bama’s ability to win the game, but know that Texas is a very formidable team that can and will tear us apart if we are not fully prepared. Nick Saban does get an awful lot of respect around here, but so does Mack Brown.
Most people around here are looking forward to an epic matchup between two well coached teams.
What part of Bama are you in? (Just curious)
Also, I wonder if Texas has something here like Bama has in Texas. There is a whole group of Bama fans in Texas (I believe they’re called Tide in Texas) who get together in different spots and watch games. Apparantly it’s a pretty huge group…last thanksgiving when I was in Dallas, I hooked up with some of them to watch Alabama/Auburn…they had rented out an entire bar in a Dallas hotel and decked it out with Crimson and White. It was pretty epic.
You should look into groups of displaced Texas fans, I’d bet there are enough of them in Bama to get together for occasions like Jan 7.

Get out of there man!

Texas Exes....
to the rescue. There must be an Exes group in AL…there is pretty much everywhere else. They typically call out to those poor souls stuck in the belly of the beast, and rally them ’round the Burnt Orange on game day.
I know exactly what you're going through
I live in Hueytown (right outside of Birmingham) and the Bama fans I’ve attempted to talk football with are merciless. All I’ve heard is that Mark Ingram will run over our “sorry” big 12 defense. January 7th cannot come soon enough! Hook em’

Here are contacts for the Texas Exes local chapters in Alabama:

ticket exchange
i have 3 total B.C.S CHAMPIONSHIP tickets in section 5, row 15, on the LONGHORNS side. will trade for 3 equal or close to tickets on the BAMA side. couldn’t find out who was on what side before i bought tickets. the seats r # 115,116,and 117. …GREAT SEATS ON THE 50. the game is going to be a great one, equally matched. i went to the FIESTA BOWL last year and watched the LONGHORNS, good game. my father is an alabama fan so it would be nice to have him on their side. his second team is TEXAS. he actually lives in texas. good luck to both teams and let’s hope that it’s a nail bitter. god bless.
Opposite problem here...
Alabama fan in Austin, thankful for my lonely SEC game of the week on CBS. Even if it means putting up with Verne. My impression of Burnt Orange Nation is that there’s a great malaise here. That brings me no joy however. I’m not surprised ‘Bama nation is feeling rather confident after the Florida beat down. But I personally think it’s to Texas’ advantage that they go in as the underdog. They know the Big 12 game was a wake-up call the way Auburn was for ‘Bama. I’d rather go into the championship with something to prove.
I agree with Kong’s points about a healthy fear of Texas though, and excitement about playing another college football powerhouse. It’s been a long slog since the 1999 SEC beat down of…Florida. I know bringing up Utah is considered quite the putdown, but really, neither the team nor the fans cared about that game. The Thumb has been a far more horrifying reminder of this decade’s mediocrity.
Texas kicks ass as a place to live. Hang in there in Hueytown-you have two things I miss quite a bit, fall and Dreamland.
Be Modest Texas
You guys need to be little modest, TCU should be playing against us really. There is no need to talk trash. RESPECT who you will see on 1/710. The SEC Champions: BAMA
If that's the case
Then maybe yall wouldn’t be there either without you “SEC Prestige”. See Tenn and Aubrun escapes. Short, selective memories are convenient aren’t they?
Don't mind Oracle...
He’s stuck on this whole TCU thing. He’s not representative of the rest of the Bama nation. Most of us have a ton of respect for the Longhorns and are excited about playing a great opponent in what looks to be one hell of a great game.
I know it’s tough at age 15, Oracle, but try to show some class. You give the rest of us a bad name.

I'll be with the Bama in-laws in Biloxi
I just keep reminding them 7-0-1 so far…..and this is playing up for a 2005 deja vu. I sincerely think McCoy and our Off weapons are faster than the D. We need to play hurry up and make Mount Cody gasp for air so they can’t rotate fresh bodies. On D we just got to get at McIlroy becuase he isn’t that good. We can with this.
