WR Mike Davis to Texas
Dallas Skyline WR Mike Davis has switched his commitment from Swamp Aggie to Texas. This might mean no Darius White for the 'Horns, but this is nevertheless a big get for Texas. Davis is ranked as the 129th best player and 25th best WR by Rivals and the 55th best player and 10th best WR by ESPN. Davis isn't a freak athlete like Darius White, but he has been a tremendous playmaker while in HS. His game has been compared to Shipley's by cognoscenti.

ESPN is reporting the same
Gotta love the comparisons to Shipley. Nice pick-up and great addition to an already deep receiving corp. Who needs a RB with the potential five wide set we could have next year? :)
Also...
This class is getting stupid good.
I know it’s been said for years that Texas pretty much has its pick of players in TX but this year it’s pretty close to being the case. What a WR corps

For GBR...
Want to give everyone a recap of the 2010 o-line recruits?
Put everyone’s mind at ease. :-)
I retract that. Tacky, tacky comment.
Too many drugs this weekend. Prescription only.

Or you rewatched the CCG film.
At first I thought I watching Godzilla destroy Tokyo.

If you mean the Big 12 Championship game...
I actually watched some of it again in my drug stupor. It did not make it any less painful. Godzilla to Suh comparison is not that far off.

what, you mean a recruit committed after march?
Somehow my universe doesn’t make sense anymore.
So, anyone anticipating a killer ball-control offense in about 2011?

Yea, a short trip to the Superdome
with the dynamic backfield of Gilbert, Whaley, and the soon to be Longhorn rb sensation Traylon Shead. Dyn-o-mite!
"We don't freestyle Texas Fight, big boy." - Coach Brown
speaking of which
in Traylon’s new pics on rivals he certainly looks like a future star
Worried
Is this really a good thing? I love the fact that we got another 4 star WR, but is it worth it if this takes us out of the running for Darius White?

I have a feeling that is the reason why they offered to Mike Davis.
I wonder if Darius White told UT that he narrowed his search and that it did not include the horns.
ATX
i doubt it, it may have gone something more like
“why do you want mike davis?”
“we already lost a WR commit, don’t worry, things are the same”

I think you have the causation backwards
If there’s a connection between Davis and White, it’s that Texas finally offered Davis because they realized they were out of it with White. They wouldn’t have chosen Davis over White.
or there could be no causation in either direction
White and Davis aren’t mutually exclusive, at least not necessarily. I’d feel better if UT grabbed a top OT, but having more talent is rarely a bad problem to have.

Any chance this kid might play some DB?
we definitely *always) need some depth in DB…
COACH BOOM BABY!!
YAWN...
no wheels, who cares, I doubt this guy cracks the starting lineup at WR ever
I'm not sure about that 40
As it is, too many heights, weights, 40 times, and other measurables are “self-reported,” and therefore suspect. It seems like the kid can play some great football, even against other guys who can play some great football, so he’s at least in the ballpark. Get the kid a pen.
