This year's 64-team playoff bracket
What a 64-team playoff bracket* for this season would theoretically look like.
It's actually kind of fun to imagine the possibilities. A second-round showdown against the Trojans which we'd host in Austin. LSU lurking in the third round. A hell of an easy draw for the regional final. And Bama, Florida and TCU all on the other half of the bracket. I like our chances.
Plus, it's fun to see a "16" next to A&M!
* Acknowledged by the creator of the bracket as having no chance in hell of ever happening. And I'm really not trying to open the door to yet another debate with the same tired arguments pro and con for having playoffs. We've had that debate too many times this fall!

64 teams
I kind of like the BCS the way it is. Think of it this way. If you’re in a major conference and can finish the year without a loss, you have a good chance in playing in the National Championship. Once you get there you ONLY need 1 win to be the champs. Most years you don’t have 3 BCS teams who haven’t lost a game. Usually 1 or 2. Cincanniti played the weaker schedule of the 3 teams. I don’t count TCU and Boise State because both their SOS’s are weaker the Cincinnati’s.
Think about how much harder it would be to play a 12-13 game schedule and then have to play and win in 3-4 more game to either win or make it to the Championship. The lower divisions in the NCAA can do this because their level of play is no where near Division 1.
If there were to be a playoff though, 64 teams is not the answer. Waste of time to include 64. Max should be 8 and that’s stretching it. I don’t believe that there are 8 teams in the BCS on the same level as an Alabama, Florida and Texas. The conference championship games act as a playoff for the BCS. The conferences who don’t have them should and are somewhat punished for it.
I say leave it be. It’s much much harder to go through 12-13 games then have to play 3-4 more to win or make it to the championship then to get through your conference championship and can win it in one. I believe that college presidents take that into account win considering a playoff system.

Your comments are without merit or logic
1) Winning the championship should be hard.
2) Your 2nd paragraph ignores the 21-24 games pros plays and the 15-16 games high school students play. So, your argument applies to D1 college football only, but not to the pros, lower division colleges or high school football.
3) Agree with the 64-team playoff. Disagree that Alabama, Florida or Texas should be annointed. Why did Boise St, Cinci & TCU even play? Should they even play in the same league?
Must you always be so insulting?
It’s possible to disagree with someone on here without starting off by stating that someone else’s beliefs are “without merit or logic.”
