Jai Lucas, Texas Longhorn

A check of the calendar reveals that today is December 15th, which means Florida transfer Jai Lucas officially begins his tenure as a Texas Longhorn. The Statesman profiles the end of Lucas's wait, which arrives in time for tonight's match up against UT-Pan Am (7:00 CT, Erwin Center). (EDIT: Apparently he won't be able to play until Saturday vs UNC. See comments. --PB--)

Welcome, Jai.

So wait, is Jai eligible to play tonight?

I thought recent reports had UNC as his first eligible game?

What an embarrassment of riches

I can’t wait to see how this team faces against top level competition (Michigan St., UNC, KU). What an exciting time to be a Longhorn.

Will he wear number 50?

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
