Ft. Worth S-T article & Recruiting Question for GoBR....
I recently read an article in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram about their Elite 11 recruits for 2010. Of the eleven, 6 are committed to the Longhorns. I found it interesting that a common theme with our recruits is that they are humble and appreciative to be coming to Texas. There is also more non-committal statements by Jackson Jeffcoat. Seastrunk? I see why GoBR calls this other kid "the running back from Temple". I really doubt there is a 17 or 18 year old kid that is more full of himself than this guy.
Anyways, I was intrigued by the comparisons made by the writer of these recruits to current or former NFL players. GoBR, based on your analysis, are these comparisons comparable to what you might think of these particular recruits? Tevin Jackson reminiscent of Shawne Merriman? Really?
Also, I liked what Chris Jones had to say about his recruitment...."Only the best go to Texas".

Great link, awesome info...
Why Lache rubs people the wrong way:
Who is the best player you’ve faced? Nobody.
How often do you Google or YouTube yourself? If somebody doesn’t know who I am I just tell them to Google me. If a girl hasn’t ever seen me play I’ll tell them, ’I’m not trying to be rude or anything but just Google me.’
Why Reggie Wilson (UT commit) is exactly the kind of kid we like to cheer for:
What was the coolest part about being recruited? To be honest I never in a million years thought that I was going to be recruited by Texas. So me going to all of those campuses it was like, ’Wow, I can’t believe I’m on the Oklahoma or Texas campus.’ They were actually like ’Wow, we actually have Reggie on campus.’ It made me feel like the man. Here I am, a nobody and they are treating me like I’m the man. I felt honored."
Seastrunk will probably be the first one to tell you how humble he is..

very nice, thanks for the link...
I think I may seriously like Chris Jones.
Describe your ideal touchdown dance? I’d probably just throw up the Longhorns.
and:
What’s your favorite memory from football? My favorite memory was after the state game when I saw my coach and there were tears coming from his eyes.
I also liked this from Darius White:
I pushed myself because I didn’t want to be one of those should-have, could-have, would-have people.
don’t know where he ends up, but I think I may root for the young man…
Comparison to Tevin Jackson
He definitely doesn’t have the pure size of Merriman, but I think the comparison is apt in his ability to rush the quarterback, mostly as a blitzer in high school. I think Sergio Kindle may be a decent comp for the same reason, but Jackson is better in coverage, though he may not quite have Kindle’s speed. Other than that, I’m not sure if there is someone who comes to mind right away, but Jackson is definitely a well-rounded linebacker.

Just as long as he's not like high school Merriman as a person
Or current Merriman, for that matter.

My favorites
Mike Davis on Corey Nelson: “Corey is one of the craziest players on the team. I like his attitude, but he just acts so weird…”
Corey Nelson on Mike Davis: “He is a weird guy.”
DT Taylor Bible
Denton Guyer (6-3, 280)
Committed to Texas over Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma St.
Reminiscent of Oklahoma DL Gerald McCoy
Oh crap, maybe it’s best that Colt’s going to the NFL before Bible rolls into town.
