Pretty interesting view. Per Stewart Mandel's mailbag, "the final nine-team Mountain West standings went in exact, descending order, from 8-0 to 0-8, with each team beating all the teams below it and losing to all the teams above it. Technically, not a single surprising result took place in that conference the entire season."
If that's not a sign that 2012 is true, then I don't know what is.

This is why TCU has a tough argument
A perfect record in the MWC simply isn’t the same as in the Big 12 (especially the Big 12 South). Beating BYU and Utah is NOT the same thing as beating OU, OSU, TTU, and TAMU.
Although I do give TCU credit for scheduling a couple out-of-conference games, it’s just not enough to make up for their weak conference. Period.
