Darius White is rated by Scout.com as a five-star prospect and the nation's No. 1 wide receiver recruit. Sources indicated that White may have shortened his list of possible destinations to two schools — Oklahoma State and LSU.

I doubt it has any basis in fact, or even credible sources

Because seriously, what the heck does the Tulsa World know that no one else does, and how do they know it?

then why post it?

are you done Christmas shopping and bored? :)

Yes ;)

But mostly because I’m not the recruiting expert, and sometimes there’s fire to accompany even the faintest of smoke.

I just looked up the posting.

It appears to be a blog post with no credible source of validity. It only states that “sources indicated”. What sources? I think it’s lame. Even more lame adding LSU to the mix.

White may serioulsy consider Okie Lite, but have the sooners and Texas gone soft on recruiting him? Seems like he’s settling for fringe teams to get immediate playing time if any of this rings true.

tulsaworld is the only source of this osu/lsu rumor… no one else has printed anything similar. it’s bull until something more comes of it. there are plenty of boards blowing up over this “turn of events in darius white’s recruitment”… however, every single one of them are talking about this paper and it’s quotes and nothing else.

Other Recruiting Theories

A lot of Ohio State boards have been saying that some guy named Bill Greene with scout.com has been saying that tOSU is out and most likely Hicks is coming to Austin.

I don’t have a scout.com account or can find anything else to verify this….does anyone know of the validity? It’s nice to hear tOSU people saying it, but that doesn’t necessarily make it true….

If so...

then what is he wating for to announce? He’s made all his visits and is pretty much incubating isn’t he?

by orangetower on Dec 22, 2009 3:02 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I think he's mentioned

that his announcement would come ‘sometime around Christmas.’

by SpiritOfTheFedora on Dec 22, 2009 4:14 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

That's what I saw as well

What a week this could be…

by mikey 4 on Dec 22, 2009 10:13 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

alot of conjecture about how he’s delaying his announcement so he doesn’t get a ton of shit from Ohio State fans while he’s still living there…

by Displaced Longhorn on Dec 23, 2009 10:17 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

That's what I'm thinking...

Maybe he is waiting until they can move to avoid backlash?
Or maybe he still has to finish his semester up there?

If someone has a Scout account maybe they could look it up, I’m just saying what I read on Buckeye poster sites. Most people don’t conceive a stud unless they feel it’s true. I hope it is, but who knows who Bill Greene is and what his agenda may be, a la Bricklayer style….

I think you meant concede.

But I got your drift. GoBR stated once that he is a huge part of his basketball team and loves basketball, so there is a thought he would want to finish out the season. I hope he’s been busy looking for a home in the 78712 vacinity. I for one would love to see him on campus in the spring.

Exactly, jhal. . .

If he commits to Texas, he gets grief

If he stays silent, he keeps the wolves from the door

If he wanted tOSU, he’d have said so long ago.

"Mr. Greene"

Is also known as $$
As in, Mr. Green didn’t show today—the money didn’t come in/
So, it is probably just meaning that the money is not on Hicks to show at tOSU, which is obviously the case or he would have committed months ago. He is so out of that gray, dreary state. Welcome to Austin and sunshine in the middle of winter. (although it is odd how we don’t have much change of season…still beats the hell out of going to school in the morning with frozen hair).

Yea, my bad, concede is the word

Working on about 3 hours sleep.

It would be awesome to have him. And unlike WR he doesn’t have mass depth to overcome to play. Bobino now returns due to injury so it’s not a complete overhaul, but plenty of jobs could be up for grabs for him to win.

"Yea, my bad, concede is the word"

That changes everything. I thought you must have been talking about Mrs. Hicks.

by burntorangehorn on Dec 22, 2009 5:15 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

My intial reaction

“OH, GOD NO! Did Bobino somehow apply for and get a medical redshirt and I somehow missed it?”

Seriously, get some sleep. :)

I read a report in BS Times that....

Darius White has taken his list of schools down to Middle Tennesse State, North Dakota, and Central Arkansas Tech. Sources indicate that he should reach a decision on where he is going to go sometime in June. There is a possibility that this list may completely change next week.

I cant remember

but I know it was from the same news source that told us about the present Bevo left in the OU endzone after the RRR game this year.
