Open Thread: Texas Beats USC, Civil War 4th Quarter
Texas wears out USC 69-50, though it was hardly pretty. And no miracle cover this time, as Texas fails to overcome 19 of 34 free throw shooting. Not a typo. And effing pathetic.
Beavers lead Ducks 30-28 late in the 3rd. Chatter here.

UT vs USC was a good sign...
….if your offense can stink that bad ( 2-11 from 3 point range!) and you still win.
Barnes seems to have the offense on the back burner but if all you have to do is feed Pitman who makes over 80% of his shots and is a getting to be a decent passer and Balbay gains some confidence in his quick moves to the hoop and begins passing off those moves, plus a15 -20 pointer in James. It might not matter much if the horns score 60-110 points if the defense holds the opponents to 55.
I am really impressed with the horns defense switching on picks so smoothly and then they flow smoothly into the help defense on the mismatches. To play that tough on defense and only pick up15 fouls with the number of freshman on the court they have is a testament to foot movement and grit. You barely see this good a team defense with five seniors.
Congratulation to Pittman 7 blocks in 25 minutes and only 3 fouls, hes down from 1 foul a minute to 1 for every 8, swatting down balls like he has flubber on his shoes.
