Having to work the first part of the day, into the SEC game. My stomach is turning over and I can’t focus on anything. I’m glad we’ve got a night game, but I may very well pass out by then. Bring it on already so I can rest for a few weeks.

Strangely...

I’m not nervous. I think it must be my faith in Colt’s decision making and Coach Boom’s adjustment capability.

Let’s hope all our boys come ready to play and fired up. I want to see Husker helmets rolling around the field.

Your tongue can't repel flavor of that magnitude!!

It is strange

Everything tells me that I need not worry or be nervous, but I still get that gut wrench in the 24 hrs to a week prior to games like this.

I too have faith in these guys. As long as Team Boom and the Goon Squad resemble the first 11 games, I expect the rolling of said helmets.

Defensive Performance against Aggies = Huge Plus Today

I could be crazy – but the Aggie defensive effort will create an intensity that will rain down on the Huskers all day.

creating stories

I think the media is hurting for storylines this year, so they perpetuate these stories without any support. They disregard coaches coming out and denying interest. On the other hand, it’s certainly not uncommon for coaches to say on thing and do another, unfortunately.

On a completely different note, why is it that ESPN reports speak sooooo slowly during their sign off?

—I..n……..M…a..i..n..e………………, I’mmmm …………………A..r…c…t…i…c…l…o..n..g…h…o..r…n…….., B…O…NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

Not Good Fit For Will

That is not the right job for a DC to jump into. Too much of a media circus, too complex politics, national recruiting efforts to direct – think Will not be the guy there. However, I do not feel he will replace Mack – just too much money to be made and Mack is not going anywhere. Mack is getting better every year, energy level higher every year – I am guessing he has at least 5-10 years left. Will headed to Georgia in 2011 to succeed Richt. Richt fired the coordinators this year, another bad year and his head gets chopped. Saban to Bama, Kiffin to Tenn has Ga teetering on the edge of irrelevance.

Desmond Howard Leaves Colt off of Heisman Ballot

Figures one of the least deserving winners (over Peyton Manning?) of all time would not get it right.

yeah...

I am curious what they would do for media coverage if he got knocked out? It is pretty obvious that the entire set of stock productions for the entire game will have a Tebow flavor. If Tebow is out they either have to use the stuff they have prepared for Bama or just go with dead air.

All the anticipation over a NU upset

Might actually help Texas with public opinion if it’s a blowout, right? 3 weeks ago no one thought this would even be close, but BCS chaos-mongering lulled many into believing Nebraska has a very good chance. Which should make a hefty game by McCoy much more convincing, if it happens.

The latest Stoops ND rumor from a mizzou guy on OB

I am at the point I just start laughing at these now…

Terms I’ve heard floated:

6.5 million a year
6 year contract
complete control over player discipline
JUCO transfers will be allowed as well some marginal acedemic cases

Stoops has been silent the last couple of days. He was able to fend off Sooner Nation early in the week with his non-denial denials.

OU will not know what hit them SOONER than later. The move will be quick and decisive. It will go from mocking people who think he is leaving to ND to OMG he left.

It is time to start looking for a new coach Boomer.

Collaros is better on the shorter passes though, so it’ll be harder for Cincy to come from behind quick enough with him. Still easier than if Pike keeps throwing INTs, though, so BK really should make the switch.

What is the BCS order?

Sugar, fiesta, then what?

by Texas Wahoo on Dec 5, 2009 1:57 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

General projections

If GT wins tonight, it’s generally believed that the bowls would be:

Sugar: SEC-Big East
Orange: GT-TCU
Fiesta: Big 10-Boise

Not sure what order. The complication which emerges with a Clemson victory, though, is that it would set up an unwanted and unnecessary rematch between TCU and Clemson.

That would probably shift the bowls to:

Sugar: SEC-TCU
Orange: Clemson-Big East
Fiesta: Boise-Big 10

Apparently, there’s very little chance of the Fiesta taking the Big East winner, particularly Pitt, unless they absolutely have to, since there’s some lingering resentment about the 45 fans Pitt brought to Tempe five years ago.

Did you watch ESPN during the 1st half of the season?

Matt Barkley was the 2nd coming of Tebow. They all said how he was playing way beyond his years. He was majorly hyped through the first half of the season before USC imploded. Sure, he could improve, but he was overrated and overhyped this year.

by LonghornEm on Dec 5, 2009 3:04 PM CST up reply actions

yeah, ok, that's fair...

he was certainly overhyped. The “epic” drive against Ohio State, where he basically gave the ball to McKnight and let him take the team on his shoulders… only to get all the credit for “leading” the drive. I guess he deserved credit for not fumbling the snap or the handoff, but…

I just think we tend to pile on a little unfairly, he certainly showed some good stuff, and like I said, he is a freshman. And he’s no more over-credited than Tebow, at least…

I'm confused

Arizona just scored again, and the announcers said that the “Wildcat offense” came to play. Isn’t the use of “Wildcat offense” rather ambiguous nowadays?

I think the trivia question was inaccurate

From the Wikipedia entry, which seems pretty thorough and accurate:

Champions and selectors are in italics when retroactive and bold when “consensus” according to how they are designated in the Official NCAA Records Book. “Consensus” selectors in the Official NCAA Records Book correspond to the period from 1950 to present which began with the introduction of the two poll system upon the appearance of the Coaches Poll in 1950.

Tebow

He has been a average college qb but a great leader for his team. Guess now maybe Percy Harvin may have been their MVP.

I still can’t believe the Jacksonville Jaguars owner was quoted as saying he might want Tebow…Surely not the first round…and just this week Jim Kelly said Tebow is the kind of guy the Bills need to turn their franchise around…Just can’t see him being an NFL qb.

I love how Verne and Gary Tebow Danielson can diagnose McElroy with a hip pointer and no one has said anything or shown any evidence of injury

No effect...

I see no effect for game day prep or execution…In all honesty I think Applewhite may have been too imaginative for Saban….He likes the offense he has now….

However I do think where Applewhite makes a difference is in recruiting for Texas…I have nothing to back that claim up but I just feel that way.
