Colt is still my Heisman winner, and the Horns are definitely worthy

Remember when we had a slow start to this season? And then we just took off and starting destroying teams? How Colt was untouchable till about a few hours ago? One close game (which we won by the way) and everyone, Longhorn fans included, are down on the team and the guy? That's just bandwagoning. I hope this is just instant reactions and by sun-up everyone will have cleared their heads. This still is a terrific team. Colt still is a fantastic player. I'll take him to battle any day and he had one hell of a season.

Also, other than Suh, that team sucks. They had their third first-down of the game late in the fourth quarter. A fistful of yards. If you feel dirty for winning that game, I don't know what you tell you because we did deserve to win that game. We had them beat in every single statistical category. If we lost it, it would have been because of their own end-of-the-game drive, not because they had been outgaining us all night long but had tacky calls.

As for the officiating, sure the horse-collar looks bad but hey, it was a penalty. It wasn't imagined, it wasn't a phantom call. The foul did occur.

So please, everyone, just stop hating on the Horns and Colt. We wouldn't be in contention for the MNC if not for Colt. And if you look at the entire season and not just one single game (which, I remind you again, we won) Texas is still fantastic. And undefeated!!!! Bring on whomever, I know who I'm rooting for.

OK,

but if “that team sucks,” why did we have to struggle so to beat them at the last second? I’m happy for the win, but right now, i don’t like our prospects against the Tide. Saban must be licking his chops. Pellini appropriates the OU plan and it works just as well over a month later. Saban will do the same and add some new twists to make it even more difficult. GD has to find something that will work against the same approach we saw tonight, and the O line has to grow a pair. Their performance was shameful.

Nebraska doesn't suck

Well, the offense sucks. Especially when it plays a defense like ours. But that defense is one of the best in the country. All of the rollouts were fantastically covered (a very difficult play to defend) and when Colt tried to stay in the pocket Suh took about a second to blast through whatever double team we tried to throw at him. Some drives were killed by mental errors and, just when you think he’s gone the GD monster returns in full force, play calling. I think if we had been at the top of our game offensively we could have gotten another 7-10 points at most. The bizarrely-conservative offensive game plan for Nebraska did exactly what they wanted it to. I said to my dad that they were just going to keep running and killing clock until they use their last drive to try and win it at the end, and that is exactly what happened. We were just fortunate enough to be able to respond in adversity.

If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!

IF Nebraska had an offense, they would be a very good team.

Suh will be gone next year and they will have a big hole in the DL.

the media might be singing a different song if stonehands kirkendoll catches that pass

“…Facing relentless pressure from perhaps the best defensive lineman in a decade, mccoy did what heisman trophy recipients do. He found a way to win, scoring one touchdown with his leg and throwing a beautiful 60-yard pass for another in the 4th quarter…”

Heisman

The Heisman shouldn’t be won or lost by one game. It should be the whole year and highlights. That’s why it is for most outstanding player of the year, not what you did right before foting takes place.
