Let the trash talking begin!
Haha ok, not really!
Just wanted to drop by and congratulate the Horns on their victory in the Big 12 title game, and their upcoming berth in the national title game against my Crimson Tide.Clock Controversy aside, it was a very gutsy performance, and the Longhorns should all be proud of a team that played their hearts out. Close, hard fought defensive games like that one are my favorite kind of football.
I also wanted to express how happy we, the Bama nation, are that we will be playing Texas in the NC game. (Before anyone makes any accusations, I'm NOT saying this because we have some stupid idea that it will be an easy win.) Texas is one of the few schools that Alabama has NEVER beaten, and is a program every bit as rich in tradition as is ours. We were hoping for a Texas win in the Big 12 game so that we could have a NC game of two historical powerhouses, and I know I am expecting one hell of a game. We will have to defend one of the best QB/WR combos in the nation in McCoy/Shipley, and will be going against an outstanding coaching staff. This should be a war for the ages, and I absolutely cannot wait to see how this one turns out.
As a side note, I'm a Bama grad, both my parents and most of my family are Texas grads...this is a game we have been wanting to happen for a LONG time now. Best of luck to the Longhorns in their preparation for the game, I hope our teams can give each other the absolute war that both of our fanbases want to see.
Roll Tide, and we'll see you all in Pasadena!

Good luck to you, as well
I lived in Alabama for three miserable years. I met lots of stupid Bama fans.
Can you tell your friends that it’s not supposed to be pronounced “Row Tide”?
Thanks.

hahahaha...
FUCK THE TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok in all seriousness, Bama has a great team. I honestly didn’t think that they could beat Florida, but boy was a I wrong. Florida got out coached by good ol Saban (UF in my opinion has a more talented roster), which is why they lost. I think it will be a great game between (clearly) the best 2 teams in the country.
Ha!
I don’t mind some trash talk, it’s all in good fun!
My entire family lives in Texas, trust me I know plenty of stupid Texas fans…but living in Bama, I know tons of stupid Bama fans too ;) I suppose human stupidity is universal, regardless of school ties.
To be fair, the only thing I love about this state is Alabama Football. I’ve never experienced anything like it anywhere else. The rest of this state can suck it. I’d rather live in Texas.
But I’d still be a Bama fan :)

When I lived in Alabama, it was DuBose's last season
Lived through the Franchione fiasco, then the Mike Price catastrophe, left right when that former QB of yours was hired.
LOTS of Paul Finebaum on the radio…
Anyway, the crack was in good nature — Good luck, and, by the way, the game is one month from now. It’s a completely different season, as I’m sure you know.

Clock
I’ll say it once, and I’ll say it agian. To say there was a controversy with the clock is fools gold for Nebraska. No controversy period. No one can look at the replay and say that there wasn’t 1 second left when the ball bounced out of bounds stopping the clock. I don’t know why they don’t include mili seconds on the game clock since they do on basketball because there is time between 0 and 1. Those that say the clock hung on 1, that’s the reason.

I didn't mean to imply...
that the ‘Clock Controversy" was legit. I think the officials made the right call, and I think the outcome of the game was fair. I only said “controversy” because plenty of folks are up in arms about it…even if they don’t have a legitimate grievance.

Best of Wishes
Personally, I’m hoping for an offensive shootout, but conventional wisdom points to a more defensive struggle between Alabama and Texas. While I’m sure that each team is hoping for a dominant blowout, I hope that this turns out to be a close last-second thriller that will have people talking for ages as a classic (Ohio State v. Miami, OU v. BSU, and of course, USC v. Texas come to mind….)
Best of luck to you guys, and we’ll be looking forward to the game.
we will need a priest on our sideline
Saban is obviously an interloper from another world or unthinkable place based on how he traveled from LSU to Miami to Alabama.
That Alabama elephant is horrifying to put it mildly, especially when Corso puts it on.
We are facing a team riddled with occupants from the netherworld. But we have faced a similar foe back in 2005, and we vanquished the beast.
Well...
a recent poll on this site indicates that we’re glad we’re playing you as well. This is a college football royalty match-up. Let the arrogance and complacency begin.
