Twas the Night before the Rose Bowl
Does anyone have a copy of the 2006 Rose Bowl poem, "Twas the night before the Rose Bowl"? I wanted to see if I can find it and update it to a 2010 version. It went something like...and all thru the house not longhorn was stearing not even a mouse....Mack shouted on "players names". It was really cool. I got it in an email back in 2006 but now can not find it.

T’was the night of the Rose Bowl…and all through the land,
All the Longhorns were stirring, even the band.
The tickets were purchased for the game, room, and air…
In hopes that “Saint Vincent” would soon be there!!
The fans were tailgating from their truck beds,
While a vision of a championship danced in their heads.
And Bevo in his bridle, and me in my cap…
Had just popped a cold one before the first snap.
When out on the turf there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter!!
My eyes fixed on the tunnel, and the thundering herd;
The roar of the fight song; I sang every word!!
They ran to the end zone, and knelt to their maker…
Giving thanks for TEXAS, and the victory later!!
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear.
Coach Mack in his glory, “THE HEAD COACH OF THE YEAR”!
And our hero from Houston that I haven’t seen since;
I knew in a moment it must be “Saint Vince”!
More rapid than eagles his posse they came…
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name!
Now, THOMAS! Now, TAYLOR! Now, PITTMAN and SWEED!
On, CHARLES! On, GRIFFIN! ROSS, HUFF and McGEE!
To the top of the world for a championship crown!
Now dash away, dash away, to a TEXAS touchdown!
They fought with fury! They fought with might!
They fought like champions on this championship night!
Oh! The bombs they flew, and the holes blew open…
The Longhorns ran the ball just as we were hop’in.
The defense attacked, and oh, they played hard!
Stopping the Trojans, in their own back yard!
Mack’s eyes how they twinkled, his dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, the “crystal ball” he did carry!
He embraced his coaches, he embraced his team!
And “The Eyes of TEXAS” we all did sing
A season that will live forever in lore;
COME EARLY, WEAR ORANGE, STAY LATE, once more!
MERRY CHRISTMAS, TEXAS!! HOOK `EM HORNS!

Yea, Alabama!"
Yea, Alabama! Drown ‘em Tide!
Every ’Bama man’s behind you;
Hit your stride!
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave!
And if a man starts to weaken,
That’s a shame!
For ’Bama’s pluck and grit
Have writ her name in crimson flame!
Fight on, fight on, fight on, men!
Remember the Rose Bowl we’ll win then!
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You’re Dixie’s football pride, Crimson Tide!
Oracle, dude...
I’m happy you’re excited about Alabama…so am I…but coming on other people’s fan sites and talking shit just makes us, the Alabama fans, look like we don’t have any class. Please try to represent the Bama nation better than this. Making some half-assed attempt to intimidate the other teams’ fans on the internet isn’t going to help us win the game, but it will damn sure make us look bad.

agreed
Kong, you’ve been quite classy so far. Hopefully we will do the same.

the 'Horn fans...
Over on RBR have been very classy as well.
I personally am just not a fan of talking shit to people…Believe me, I can do it with the best of ‘em, but I don’t see the point.
My high school football coach said this to me a long time ago, and it really stuck with me: “What do you think is more intimidating…yelling and hollering at someone about how you’re going to kick his ass, or walking up to him, shaking his hand, knocking him on his ass when the ball is snapped, helping him up, then knocking him on his ass again next play?”
It’s the truth. If some loudmouth feels the need to talk smack, it’s because they feel intimidated. If you can bring yourself to a place in your mind where you respect your opponent, but do not fear him…that’s the mindset you need to win.
That’s one thing I love about both Alabama and Texas this year. You haven’t heard any smack talking out of either team. Both teams are humble, soft-spoken, and businesslike off the field. Both teams play with fire and passion on the field…but with little to no shit talking. Same with the coaches on both sides.
If it’s good enough for the players, and it’s good enough for the coaches, then that attitude should be good enough for the fans.

haha!
YUMC is an Aggie troll that likes to come here and talk it up. He’ll probably show up with this comment.

I'll pistol-whip the next guy that says Shenanigans
Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.
Kong at the Gates(whatever your gay name is) and Whoever else
I can say what I wanna say, I havent talk shit yet so you bringing class in this is pointless and meaningless, do you understand that? And technically you are not a BAMA person b/c if you were a real one then you wouldnt make up things like a lil bytch would do only thing I did was post the fight song everyone knows which has the rose bowl stated in it. I came over because you always scout your opponent now for you to be over here making love with the horns then that is your perrogative. There are plenty of hornheads over there talking crap. TCU vs ALABAMA! (Dream Matchup)
Oh, dear...
You really got me. O NOES HE CALLED ME GAY!!! AND A “BYTCH!!!”
I’m not a BAMA person? Well, I’m 29, have lived in Bama all my life, did my undergrad at Alabama, and the main reason I chose to go to school there was that I couldn’t bear to root for anyone else. So yeah, I’m a bit of a Bama guy. I’d say I’m more of a Bama guy than you. A real Bama person would remember the words of Bear Bryant, specifically “Act like you’ve been there before.” He meant no shit-talking, no ass-hattery, none of that foolish crap that other schools and other fans do.
Furthermore, why do you insist on using atrocious grammar and spelling in your posts? It’s like you are making a special effort to reinforce the stereotype of Alabama fans being obnoxious and uneducated.
Please, for the love of Saban, act like you’ve been there before when you choose how you will represent the University of Alabama, a place I hold very, very dear.
