Benson is Bengal's top priority | Cincinnati Enquirer | Cincinnati.Com
Vindication? I think Cedric deserves some credit for being able to get past his well documented troubles. It seems that he has found a home in the NFL. Who would have seen that coming?

Good for him.
It’s a crappy franchise to be a part of. But I wish him well and hope he gets his career back on track!

Yeah, he isn't exactly a Pro-Bowler with the Pats...
But, I don’t think anybody thought the guy would get a second contract. Now, that looks to be guaranteed. All the media reports in Cincinnati since he was signed shows that the team really appreciated his attitude and effort. The SB Nation Bengals blog even discussed the use of the franchise tag on him. He’s come a long way.
Also
The Bengals tagged kicker Shayne Graham. Franchising Benson would’ve been absurd, as there’s no way he should be paid as a top-5 back. On the plus side, this means that Housh is almost certainly gone, leaving more money to resign Benson.
agree on franchising him..
But, my point was that the very fact that Cincinnati fans are discussing it shows how much progress Benson has seen. They watch that team a lot more than I do… I just get to see the highlights….
That said
He still managed only 747 yards (a season career high) for a 3.5 YPC. He came on strong in the last two games of the season, but it was against inferior competition (Cle, KC), and he put the ball on the ground twice.
Nevertheless, I hope that next season is the year where he finally puts it together and becomes the 1,000 yard back Texas fans know he can be.
Yeah, but did you see how terrible that offensive line was?
Their line started to gel a bit in the last few games, but they were all messed up for most of the year. IF you watched him this season and compare it to his Bears days, you can see he had better acceleration and vision now… I don’t know if he’s been working harder, or was finally healthy, but he looked much better than he did his last 2 seasons….
