Jones, Kirkpatrick slated to announce on signing day
Jarvis Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick are set to make their picks on national signing day.
Jarvis Jones, listed as a weakside DE on rivals will hold his press conference at 1:30 eastern time Wednesday Feb 4th. Jones will more than likely play outside linebacker if he choice Texas. Although Texas has missed out on a lot of the out of state recruits in the past, I have been hearing Texas or USC. ( I really don't have any insider information, just what I have read over at Rivals.) Florida was the early favorite, but Jarvis' Mom really likes the longhorns and feels comfortable sending him here.
Dre Kirkpatrick , a 6'3" 180 lbs cornerback is set to announce at 3 pm eastern time. I will be very suprised if Dre goes anywhere but Alabama but Texas made a big impression on him when he took his official visit a couple weeks ago.
I am not sure if any of these will be telivised, and both will announce from their respective High schools. A full list of the remaining 4 and 5 star players can be found here along with their announcement times.

These will be on ESPN U
Garrett Gilbert: 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
If we don’t get either one of these talented players thats fine but I sure hope Jones doesn’t go to USC. USC is getting pretty stacked right now and thats who I see us playing for the championship if we get to that point. That will be an even stronger team than the one we faced in 05
there’s little talk of USC with jones..

everyone predicting where he’s going to end up dont have USC in the top 3 picks… it’s widely considered a 2 man race between florida and texas with georgia bringing up the rear.

Worry not. They’ll be sure to destroy the toughest of teams, then drop one to a Pac-10 bottom-feeder.

Columbus (Ga.) Carver linebacker Jarvis Jones
Competition: Georgia (12/12), LSU (1/30), Southern Cal (10/31) & Texas (1/23)
The situation: The whispers are that the long time Florida fan is looking out west now that Brandon Spikes has decided to return for another season.
Prediction: Florida – He might like the depth chart situation at Texas a little more, but in the end, he’s been a Gator fan (and recruiting lean) for a while. If there’s a team to look out for, watch to see what happens with the home state team.
Runner-Up: Texas
Darkhorse: Georgia
Current Confidence Factor: Florida: 55%

Last week when Ketch spoke to the Houston Texes Exes,
he listed Texas as a 50/50 with Jarvis Jones and said Texas coaches are really confident. He would step in and play Sergio’s position with Sergio movin’ to Rak’s spot…
He said Nick Saban won’t let Dre Kirkpatrick leave Alabama, but when Kirkpatrick was apparently in Austin the other weekend, he stood next to Ced Griffin and dwarfed him. Too bad he’s probably goin’ to be playin’ for Alabam.
That’s what little insider info I have…
Speaking of recruiting??
Whats the deal with Bryce Brown?? I thought he was solid commit to Miami!! Now I hear he is talking about maybe going to USC?!! Why hasn’t Mack thrown our hat into the ring for this stud running back Would make since for him to stay closer to home? I believe he is from Kansas!! Or would Whaley if we went after Brown????
Well, I don’t think it would really bother Whaley, but Mack’s generally one to keep his word, and he gave his word to not recruit another running back for this class.
I played against Wichita East every year in multiple sports, and it’s amazing that they’ve had two five-star prospects in the past two years. They always sucked when I was there. I do kind of wish he would’ve headed toward UT, but I don’t think Mack even attempted to recruit him. Sucks to let an ACC team raid our conference territory, though.
