Dr. Saturday weighs in on the John Chiles situation
Former SBN blogger Matt Hinton now resides in his posh Yahoo Sports! digs and weighed in on the John Chiles situation, amending his spring practice stock character list from Tuesday. Described by Hinton as "the rock-and-a-hard-place player," Chiles is in a similar situation as Mitch Mustain and Aaron Corp at USC -- battling for a starting position for a relatively short period of time, with a five-star freshman recruit nipping at their heels.

QB tombstones.
Matt’s eulogy.
They’re just squeezed out by top-notch recruiting machines that work a little too well.
This quote was actually about USC’s QB battle this spring, but it works for Chiles as well.
This happens across the board but with QBs it really catches the public attention.
There’s a returner’s spot open with Quan gone. But he’s standing in line in every other position on the field, yielding to those with qualified experience on both offense and defense. He’s barely big enough as a receiving tight end – and the Horns have help coming there – but he might have a shot. Otherwise, it’s special teams.
