i’ve liked cody johnson as a starting tailback for awhile… he pounds it northsouth and doesn’t bounce off tacklers, he drills through them.

Depth Charts
It’s like being six years old again on Christmas day

I hear ya about
GSmith at TE . . . that’ll let the air out of Rose Bowl talk. But I see a lot of positives (defensive tackle is NOT among them):
RB, don’t worry about it. The cream will rise (and I believe there’s plenty of talent).
Bailey’s fifth year had been known for some months (though it does leave team with two senior PKs).
DJ Monroe, I presume, will not be returning since he’s the only player I can think of not listed at some position.
I like Walters at OG — that’s the thinnest spot on the line, and if he’s not going to be the future at center (his HS position), put him where he can help. I thought they might put him at LT and move Tray Allen to LG.
Thomas as the nickel back is good stragegy; it lets Scott move into playing status when the Horns go with five-man secondary, which is often in the Big 12.
Let the games begin (and the commitments continue).

DJ Monroe
I don’t think that he’s necessarily off the team… He’s on the roster still, and players like Shipley and Irby were not on the DC either- They were just down in the injury list. It also could be that he’s not good enough yet to make the DC. Either way, whatever… He hasn’t done anything to impress me, so we’re fine with or without him.

I think it’s a goal/motivational ploy. Remove him from the depth chart and tell the kid to show him that he has to take care of business academically if he wants to have a prayer of appearing on it.

Walters at OG
"I like Walters at OG — that’s the thinnest spot on the line, and if he’s not going to be the future at center (his HS position), put him where he can help. I thought they might put him at LT and move Tray Allen to LG."
That was my first thought when I saw Walters at OG: thinnest spot on the line and the guy can probably play anywhere, so OG it is…for now.
As for putting Walters at LT and sliding Tray Allen over to guard, that’s a great idea, but not this year. If they make that move now, it leaves a redshirt freshman and a true freshman backing a starter with an injury-riddled history. Ulatoski was walking-wounded for most of last year, so for now I’d be more comfortable with Allen behind him.
I know Walters was a center and they say he can play anywhere, but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see him out at LT in a couple of years. He’s got the frame, the feet and the temperament for it.

I like that they still include that on the DC for posterity.

Monroe
probably has to bring his grades up in the spring, so he can play in the fall.
The depth chart for the ohio state game was wrong from the first play of the game..so i wouldn’t pay attention to depth charts!

Monroe needs 24 hrs passed by the fall(15 spring, 9 summer)....won't be easy....
I sure hope he does it though. He’ll try very hard, but that’s not even easy for some of us that weren’t borderline passing at UT.

Ishie, things never really got going for you in Austin, but we fans appreciate that you came to UT and gave it your best. You’re in the club. Have a great future…hook ’em.
