Most games at half

Louisville struggling, up only 35-33 at half

USC and BC are playing a good game, 34-30 game at half

Arizona is up 5 at half in a classic 12-5 match up

Xavier seems to be in control of Portland st. winning by 10 last time I saw

Wow

Did y’all watch the Arizona game? Really excellent effort by the Wildcats. I guess they did belong in the tournament after all.

Dancing with myself

BC sure screwed me tonight. Come on Sienna – beat freaking OSU.

Arizona

Is the pick every will say they knew, but did not make, even though most though they would lose.

by Wells on Mar 20, 2009 8:38 PM CDT up reply actions

You are probably correct

However, I did pick them. I also pick them to lose to Wake.

Siena can't hit the side of a barn

but only down 2 with 4:00 in first half.

Saint have missed

about a million layups and dunks. Nutty.

by bfaut86 on Mar 20, 2009 9:22 PM CDT up reply actions

Both teams just so sloppy

Right now I’d kick Siena and OSU out of the dance and replace them with Tech vs. Baylor. Seriously.

Embarassing

Mercifully it is halftime. OSU 28-23 over the Saints. Really poorly played all around.

Is it just me

or has the first round for the most part been kinda boring?

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.

by Super Saiyan Patrick on Mar 20, 2009 9:30 PM CDT reply actions

I thought it was just me

I just haven’t been in the March Madness spirit this year, but it’s mostly because I now work full-time. I didn’t get to do as much research as I normally do when filling out my bracket.

I think maybe the parity has something to do with the boredom. What are the best storylines? I can’t even think of any good ones off the top of my head.

I think it could get exciting tomorrow and Sunday if some upsets take place. Who wouldn’t love to see Duke lose again in the 1st weekend?

by goingforthecorner on Mar 20, 2009 9:35 PM CDT up reply actions

The Pittsburgh-ETSU game was exciting for a while

Okie Lite last second victory was fun. UCLA-VCU pretty awesome. Dayton was fairly satisfying. And I really enjoyed the Arizona performance tonight.

I don’t know about boring. What else would you rather be doing?

by bfaut86 on Mar 20, 2009 9:36 PM CDT up reply actions

ACC overrated?

lets hope the trend continues tomorrow. In Greensboro nonetheless.

by goingforthecorner on Mar 20, 2009 9:58 PM CDT up reply actions

yikes

I had Wake in the final 4…FAIL! (slaps forehead)

by owenh on Mar 20, 2009 10:41 PM CDT reply actions

What an awful, inexplicable, and embarrassing performance by Wake Forest

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are no longer any perfect brackets already.

Great late Friday drama

Ohio St./Siena and Wisconsin/FSU

Siena could’ve won the game with 2 FTs in regulation but only 1 was made to force OT.

by goingforthecorner on Mar 20, 2009 10:59 PM CDT reply actions

CBS is going crazy

switching between the Siena and Wisconsin game every 10 seconds. I’d be pissed if I was a fan of one of these teams. Nothing they can really do though. Just watch online.

by goingforthecorner on Mar 20, 2009 11:01 PM CDT reply actions

What a clutch move by Hughes of Wisconsin

FSU misses desperation three. The THIRD 12 seed to upset a 5? Now that’s parity.

by goingforthecorner on Mar 20, 2009 11:18 PM CDT reply actions

Siena and Ohio St. going back and forth!

Siena keeps making clutch threes. Can the Buckeyes respond with little time left?

by goingforthecorner on Mar 20, 2009 11:19 PM CDT reply actions

Siena wins!

anyone who still has a perfect bracket should get a million right now

by goingforthecorner on Mar 20, 2009 11:21 PM CDT reply actions

What a grea game!

They just seemed to step up when they needed too!

Yes Wisconsin thank you!

Good performance by Sienna, but my bracket took a hit :(
I bet Louisville’s happy, they play sienna then Zona/CSU winner. They have to make the elite 8 at least.

by owenh on Mar 20, 2009 11:25 PM CDT reply actions

ESPN confirms

After the first round, there are already ZERO perfect brackets left in their contest.

"BCS" Conference records after rd 1 (for what its worth)

Big12 (6-0)
ACC (3-4)
BigEast (6-1)
SEC (1-2)
Big Ten (4-3)
PAC10 (5-1)

by owenh on Mar 20, 2009 11:54 PM CDT reply actions

Duke is such a weird team

They are annually lauded as elite but have a strange philosophy. They have lots of tweener players and shoot a lot of 3’s. They are definitely flawed, but make no mistake, Texas is going to have to come hard to beat them tomorrow. And our history with duke is not good. I heard on the radio today that the last 3 times we played duke we lost by 25+ points. Coach K runs this team like a euroteam, lots of flopping, lots of white guys, lots of 3’s.

If pittman and James catch easy fouls, we are in deep trouble. And AJ better be hitting! And we better get out in transition. The transition is the MOST important part.

by owenh on Mar 21, 2009 12:22 AM CDT up reply actions

The last three times

are the only three times. We have never broke 70 on them, and they had 85+ in each game.

by Wells on Mar 21, 2009 10:46 AM CDT up reply actions

I had

Wake, Florida St., and Illinois in the sweet 16, yet find myself inexplicably tied for second place in the BON bracket challenge. Unfathomable!
