Who will be the next UT football commitment?
Included in the poll are all of the remaining scholarship offers for Texas. Who is going to be the next one to commit to Texas? I am actually surprised Peterson still hasn't, but I'm guessing the fact that he hasn't could mean that he is worried about playing time at Texas, what with the 2009 and 2010 DT recruits.
Also, any guesses on who else might get an offer down the road?

Darius White
I really hope it’s Darius White. I just dislike the fact of the whole “package” deal that we’re hearing with his high school teammates. Does anyone have more info on him? I know he’s been relatively quiet.

Hicks
yes, it would be nice to have a 5 star wide receiver added to the list, but we don’t need him…. we need Hicks. We have alot of depth at the wr position, right now we need a linebacker.
Time for a playoff.

The WRs we've recruited
this year aren’t really the burner type. Darius White combines the speed and size you want out of a playmaker. I’m sorry, while the WR position might not be biggest position of need, Darius White loves Texas. He’s a can’t-miss prospect and I do not want to see him play for any other Big 12 team.

We do need Darius White, b/c we already passed/missed on Mike Davis.
He’s going to be playing for Loseranna State U.

Chris Jones is a burner
I would say the need at receiver is for a bigger, playmaker type like White or Cobbs.

The other two from Dunbar are Dominique Sanders and Rashod Favors, right? Well, they’re not a bad pair, but it’s hard to imagine offering full scholarships to a;; three players with so few remaining spots.

I've heard Favors might get an offer if he makes it to the Orange/White game.
I would anticipate D. White and Hicks committing if they make it down for the spring game.

Favors seemed to be off the radar and then back on
but I don’t really see him getting an offer until Nelson or Hicks makes a decision and it becomes clear that another linebacker needs an offer in the class.

I thought we were going to sign 4 lb's?
Assuming we get Hicks and probably not Nelson(ol’ well), don’t you think Favors is a good pick up as he’s more of a tweener and would be nice to have on D against the spread offenses that we’ll be going against in the Big XII?

With Benson and Jackson already in the fold, Nelson and Hicks would make four.

I think..
..he knows that, but is not optimistic about Nelson.

re Torrea Peterson
I wouldnt be surprised to see his scholarship offer get pulled. Or a limit put on him at the very least. he’s the least talented of the outstanding offers remaining. And after the Reggie Wilson committment, the coaches can effectively close up shop on the D Line recruiting and feel fairly happy with their haul.
Even Jackson Jeffcoat can be considered a luxury at this point.
And for any of you voting for Lache to be the next committment, youre out of your mind. that kid isnt committing to anyone until the US Army game…at the very earliest.

I don't think Mack would tempt fate that way.
none of these guys are longhorns until they sign that LOI.

3 Biggest vote getters so far
are D. White, J. Hicks, and Seastrunk. That would be good for me, in any order!
Though I love some good defense and to see Wilson, Jeffcoat, Mims and Okafor all battling for the Horns for the next few years would be fun to watch. So maybe throw Jeffcoat in there at the end…..
That would be 25. Nice round number.

in 3 years
this is going to be one of those classes , along with the 2009 class, that we are going to look back on and be amazed with the level of talent that signed on to play here. It’s good to be Texas. Mack Brown for Governor.

Darius
What is this guy waiting for? Anyone know if he has any visits scheduled with us or anyone else?
I’d think it would be him or Hicks to commit next- both are high on UT, and the rest of the bunch seem to be either OUish, show no preference, or want to play out the recruitment process for another year.

It is amazing to me that we are asking
“What is he waiting for?” 80-90% of the recruits in this class have not committed. We are spoiled this year.
After what happened to Miami this year, I hope we keep them all til signing day!
