It is weird how two polls can be so different.

All I care about is what the staff thinks.

Thanks for posting this by the way!

As many as 6

Last year there were 49 – 5 Star Recruits. So if A. White and Wilson stay put, they have a good shot.

If we do get Darius White and Jordan Hicks, who some say are likely to commit, we could have 6 – 5 Star Recruits in this class.

If the “longer shots” of Jeffcoat and Seastrunk come on board, well now it gets just ridiculous.

How am I so addicted to this stuff? I know it doesn’t mean a whole lot and all the lists are so different because of subjectivity…. But It is just cool.

Hicks was almost a Texas lock a month ago. Not so much anymore…he isn’t a fan of the high pressure approach.

The high pressure approach

of him wanting to commit prior Feb., but the Texas staff telling him to wait until the 2009 class signed?

by Horncasting on Mar 26, 2009 6:08 PM CDT up reply actions

The high pressure approach of Texas pushing him to come down to a Junior Day and commit there did not please him.

Instead, in that time he has been to Ohio State twice and may return for the spring game.

oh well

mack and co. are payed vastly more than the scout.com staff, and for good reason. i’m sure they know who’s good and who isn’t

Ian Johnson gets on one knee.
Sam Bradford gets on both.

Connor Wood

It is weird how two polls can be so different.

Rivals has him 133 as the 9th best QB.

Scout has him 55 as the 5th best

There is a QB out of Washington named Heaps that
Scout has 14 as the best QB
Rivals has him 136th as the 10th best QB

Crazy different!

i just did a bunch of number crunching and comparison… and then accidently refreshed the page and it’s gone.. what it came down to was basically scout ranks our recruits overall considerably higher. the only thing that helped rivals was that they ranked chris jones at 70, and scout pegged him at a whopping 284…

my personal belief is that scout and rivals each have different film, and that leads to some players being given higher ratings on some sites than other’s. at the end of the year the lists will have alot less variation.

by Displaced Longhorn on Mar 24, 2009 12:22 AM CDT reply actions

They will have much less variation at the end of the year, because they can start keying in on these kids in live game action. Right now, they only have film and info on combines attended by some kids.

Jeffcoat?

What’s the news on Jeffcoat considering committing soon? I understand there’s a chance Darius White might commit to Texas at the Spring game on April 5th. Some rumors have been going around that Hicks could make the trip and commit (though some are saying he will take his time to commit).

The Statesman reported that White and Jeffcoat could commit soon.

Thoughts anyone?

Darius White may very well be our next Commit

He will be going to Texas sooner or later.

Jeffcoat on the other hand is hard to read. His whole family made the trip down to Austin for the first junior day. That includes his Mom and Dad. He later visited LSU and OU but only with his Dad. There is speculation that his Mom did not go because she loved Texas so much…but that may just people looking into to something way too much.

Knowing info like that kind of depresses me, I could use that brain space during class, but I decide to use it on recruiting.

No kidding. The brain space and time I allocated toward recruiting and fantasy college football probably would’ve allowed me to finish my thesis by now.
