Swimming Recruiting?
That is right, a small but stellar class for the Men's Swim Team.... but the surprise is the women's recruiting class this year. No out of State problems here! I have seen several of these kids swim and they are awesome. It is great to see the women's team get in the game on some of the top recruits like this.
I apologize for the formatting mistakes. I couldn't fix them.
As for the current team, Nationals is in a few weeks. It is in College Station this year. The men are favored, although I am still skeptical. But we will see. I will write something up as the event gets closer.

I met Hunter Bayley a couple of years ago.
Good kid. He’s wanted to be a Longhorn forever. Idolizes Aaron Peirsol, so he’s coming to the right place.

You chose to open it...
Then you chose to read it. Then you chose to take the time to write something, and this is what you wrote? Get over yourself.

Dax is awesome...
But I had not heard that he officially committed. 6’8’’ kid who chose swimming over basketball…. pretty crazy.

Ahem
Nationals is in a few weeks. It is in College Station this year.
Can we please do whatever it takes to ensure that a Longhorn measures the pool before the meet begins, during and after? We want the records we set to actually count, not be disqualified because some aggy measured the pool incorrectly.
Quoting TAMU AD $Bill Byrne from November 2008:
Last weekend, our swimming and diving teams hosted the Art Adamson Invitational, and several top 25 teams traveled to College Station to participate.
Our No. 8-ranked women finished in second place as Triin Aljand won the 100-yard freestyle on Sunday and became the fifth-fastest performer in NCAA history with a 47.35 showing just one day after becoming the fourth fastest performer ever in the 100 butterfly. Our women won more races (9-of-18) than any other women’s team at the meet. Our men finished in fifth place.
Following Friday night’s NCAA record setting performance in the 50-yard freestyle by Triin, an official measurement of the competition pool found it was just over one inch short. The pool passed pre-meet measurements two days earlier, but following the post-meet inspection all records were thrown out.
For the second time in the last year, we have been embarrassed because the Student Recreation Center natatorium pool has failed a post-meet measurement after records have been broken.
We are told the Rec Center is working with the manufacturer of the bulkheads which help alter the pool size based on the particular meet’s distance requirements.
We spend almost $650,000 each year in rent so our men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams can train and compete at the Rec Center Natatorium, as well as almost $50,000 more for hosting meets. Teams which come to compete in our meets and national championships expect the pool be regulation size. Just like basketball teams expect the court at Reed Arena to measure 94 feet and football teams expect Kyle Field to be 100 yards long with a pair of 10-yard endzones, we expect the same results at the Rec.
After they meet with the bulkhead manufacturer, we will meet with the Rec Center staff to get this fixed so it doesn’t occur again.
