Wilson Close to Decision ($)
Reggie Wilson, Haltom's stud defensive end and native of the Ivory Coast, will announce his decision in a formal announcement at his school within the next month, likely after his school's spring break, according to his high school coach. The final three under consideration are Texas, Oklahoma, and TCU, with Wilson declining to conduct interviews until the announcement, making it hard to determine the leader, though Texas is certainly in good shape. If he decides he wants weather similar to his native country, Austin seems like the easy choice, though academics are professedly more important for Wilson.

I would think
that academics being his primary concern would only further help Texas.
Further, I think with both he and White it seems somewhat promising that they are announcing soon. Maybe they realize Texas only has so many scholarships to go around and want to commit asap. Or perhaps that is just my wishful thinking.

I think they want to get the process out of the way
Both are going to enroll early, so they obviously can’t wait until Signing Day — it’s a great thing about the December graduate, in addition to the fact that they clearly have everything together academically to get done early.
It will also help Texas in terms of deciding if they need to go in another direction with recruiting. I could see another defensive end or cornerback getting an offer if White and Wilson decide to head elsewhere else.
For Wilson to rule out all the national schools is a good sign for Texas, and I have to think that TCU is a long shot, leaving only OU and Texas. I have to think Texas has the edge there because of academics (he wants to go into business) and the weather, which is just speculation.

Everything I've read lately...
Indicates OU is the odd man out on this one, and that it’ll come down to TCU and Texas. Gotta like our odds on that one.

Yeah, thanks a ton, Ghost. I don’t know what I’d do without the updates. That top tier of my wishlist definitely has to include Wilson.

Quick Question Roy
If Wilson signs – the odds of getting Jeffcoat go:
a. Up
b. Down
c. Completely Unaffected
Thanks for the great updates!

My impression is that...
They’re two different types of defensive end, and would likely play opposite each other, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t play a factor either.

I've thought about that question as well
and I’m not really sure. As jw says below, Jeffcoat is a rush end and Wilson a power end, so they would make perfect bookends on the line. I would say, c, completely unaffected.
