The end of season is a complete joke in college football. Schedule and randomness of the season still pale in comparison to the fact that the media for all intents and purpose votes on who will play in the championship game. 2005 was the exception not the rule and most years one or both of the teams playing for the championship could have been just as easily filled with a potentially better team. When you have 120 teams and you determine your champion by having the media pick two of them to play a single championship game at the end of the year, you are likely to miss on picking the two best teams.
