Conference Titles
OK, so I read about our Baseball team's Conference Championship a few minutes ago, and in the write-up it said this was the 75th conference title of the program's history. 75!! Really!? That number just jumped out at me as ridiculous. So I decided to check.......
The first place (and last place, cause I didn't need to look any further) I looked was here http://www.texassports.com/trads/conference-championships.html
If you haven't checked this out, you should. It blew me away. No wonder we are so hated. I think the only thing that can maybe compete with baseball's impressive run might be the 29 consecutive conference championship string that Eddie Reese hascompiled since his arrival. Of course, I am a little biased there.
Anyway, just some off-season thoughts and reflection. Congrats to the Baseball Team. The tower will be orange tonight.

Kenyon has won 30 consecutive Division III Men’s Swimming National Championships…

In some ways, that is more impressive than Div I success....
To be sucessful in DI Swimming, you have to be at a certain level, only 10-15 schools are there every year, but when you are at that level, you are going after the top 10% of High School athletes.
To win a national championship in Div III (which is FAR more competitive than Div II btw) you have to continually convince kids that SHOULD swim at a Div I school to come to your program. Some would say the latter might be more difficult.
