And in other Longhorn sports ...
The 12th-seeded Texas men's tennis team upset 5th-seed Tennessee yesterday to earn a spot in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament in College Station. Tomorrow the Horns face the four seed, Georgia, our nemesis from the championship match last season.
Meanwhile, at the Austin Regional of the NCAA men's golf tournament, Texas is nine strokes behind Texas Tech after the first day of play.

Good news on both fronts
Horns upset Georgia to get some revenge for last year, by the same margin. On to the semi-finals to face USC – a team I can’t help but hate losing to in any sport. USC upset top seed Virginia, which Texas nearly managed to do during the regular seaosn. Baylor lost in one of the other quarterfinals to Ohio State and Ole MIss also advanced. Those two teams are now the favorites.
The golf squad put together a great weekend to finish third in the regional (including medalist honors for Lance Lopez) and advance to the NCAA’s.
Still a Blaine Irby fan

Ole Miss?
The NCAA bracket shows that UCLA upset Mississippi, putting two Pac 10 teams (blech) in the final four.
