Longhorns Win Longest Game in History
Unbelievable. Texas wins 3-2 in TWENTY FIVE innings to advance to the Championship round of the Austin sub-regional on Sunday against the BC-Army winner. The best part? The Longhorns amazingly used only three pitchers in the effort, leaving Brandon Workman, Taylor Jungmann, and most of the bullpen still available for the next game and the Monday "if necessary" contest as well.
Hook 'em!

Couldn't watch tonight
had a friend find the game on his cell w/ 2-2 tie & thought rain. Get home to see this? How did I miss this? Stupid bad luck
They're are going to have to name the bullpen after Wood
Bronze a baseball for him. Something.

Texas better see a doctor...
because Austin “El Viagra” Wood lasted longer than 4 hours…check out this line:
Wood, Austin…….. 13.0 2 0 0 4 14 41 46 169 2.03
2 freaking hits over 13 innings….are you shitting me?
169 pitches? Quiennes mas macho?
Hope we didn’t ruin that kid’s arm, but wow, what an effort…congrats to Wood, he definitely gets the Chance Wheelis “Gutty Effort of the Night” and probably part of the early morning too.

They should get one of those cheap wooden rubbers and call it "the Austin Wood"
Ian Johnson gets on one knee.
Sam Bradford gets on both.
Morning Wood
He-he.

The NCAA should give him a no-hitter
12 and 2/3 innings of no-hit pitching is absolutely absurd, especially if you’re not even expecting to pitch anywhere close to that long. Wow.

Great Pic
And another reason why I’m reading BON this morning instead of the newspaper.
Thanks, RBR.

Few Thoughts
Greatest pitching performance I’ve ever seen. The pitching by all three of them is what earns you a title.
21st Inning Stretch was awesome.
Usually when I take a flask to a game I don’t walk out of the stadium sober. Bad rationing on my part.
Concessions close after the 8th…grrr…
At one point we made fun of someone for leaving in the 7th…they got the last laugh.
Crowd was very loud and trying to will the Longhorns to victory. Except near the very end when it felt like we were having a moment of silence at times.
I truly feel sorry for BC having to play a game 11 hours later.
Glad I went, hopefully this won’t be the best memory from this postseason.
And
Augie needs to have our fast players stealing more. There’s no reason not to have Travis Tucker stealing second with 2 outs and a righty on the mound. Belt’s base hit in the 23rd or 24th would’ve scored a run if they had done so, among a few other occasions throughout the game. Next time we may not be so lucky.
Mixed in among the great pitching were pretty downright pitiful at-bats by the Longhorns. Hopefully this isn’t a trend.
Shame ESPN couldn't get his name right
Woods got one out in the 20th before allowing a single to Barry Butera, then hitting Andrew Lawrence. Woods, who threw 169 pitches, including 120 strikes, was relieved by Dicharry, who retired the next two hitters.
Still a Blaine Irby fan

Some great photos
up at texassports
The Statesman has a few here.
Trubow and Bohls both have stories in The Statesman (subscription?), but the Chronicle felt it was OK to just post the AP wire story, even with hometown boy Austin Wood in the spotlight. Maybe they’ll get something posted by tomorrow unless the beat writer is busy with the Dynamo or something. (/rant)
I'd like to see
some amateur galleries – get some more shots of the end of the game. Looks like the photographers left early – or at least got most of their shots before the sun faded.

Simply Ridiculous
What a freaking game. I don’t even care that we lost either, it was super fun.

Fun with photos
You’ve heard or witnessed in person that the UFCUDFF scoreboard had to be cleared twice to show all the innings. Longhorn baseball blogger Joanna ’shopped them together:

She goes to all the games and will post photos and updates throughout the tourney, so check her site here.
