I definitely want to get back out there playing ball and picking up where I left off, winning games and having a good time with my teammates and with the fans. At the same time, if them guys don't want me to be in there, it's time for me to make a career change for myself. Because the fact is I'm ready to play ball. If they're not ready for me to play ball, then somebody is."

Sigh
What happened to “I’m just going to shut up and work and take advantage when my chance comes.”
Now Vince looks like a headcase again.

That's what I was wondering. Big 180 there.

maybe it's not all bad
Because the fact is I’m ready to play ball.
At least he’s showing signs of confidence, which is maybe what he needs to get it going.

I dont know what to make of this
It sounds like he’s trying to speak carefully but he keeps shooting himself in the foot. He needs to just stop talking if he wants anyones respect.

well
anyones respect outside of the state of Texas. He’s damn sure got my respect.

Am I the only one who thinks Vince is right?
I generally have little tolerance for prima donna athletes who think they are bigger than the team, and I really hope I am not just being a homer here, but I think the Titans are not holding up their end of the bargain.
The story I heard last year was that certain promises were made to Vince about taking a year off and starting over with a clean slate this year. And now, Jeff Fisher is basically saying Vince has to unseat Kerry Collins. I don’t think that was the deal that was made with Vince a year ago. And I don’t think Vince is being disrespectful in what he’s saying right now. He’s not throwing out the “play me or trade me” card. I think he’s asking, in a roundabout way, “what are your intentions?” He has a career to think about just like the rest of us. If they don’t want him there, then they need to admit it and take steps to get him somewhere else. If they do want him, then they need to cut the BS and start acting like they believe in him. I’m not saying give him something he hasn’t earned. But don’t make promises you don’t intend to keep either.
I don’t know about you all, but I’ve been in the position of being promised something by an employer and then having to jump through hoops to get it when the time came. There’s a fine line between paying your dues and letting people push you around just because they think they can.

I think this is not even news
As I’ve said at MCM, if you don’t try to load his quote, he didn’t ask for a trade or anything. All he said was that if he can’t play in Tennessee, he’ll look elsewhere for a team that would give him a chance to. That’s it. He didn’t rag on Fisher or anyone else. He even said that while he’s loved it there, it would simply be a career choice for him.
Much to do about nothing, but for some odd reason, the media (and disturbingly, Titans fans now) like to blow everything he does or says out of proportion.

I hate to say it...
but I think a change of scenery would be the best possible outcome for our hero. I am still astounded at how quickly they have turned on him in Nashville, like he never did anything for them. I seem to recall our hero leading them to the playoffs after the now adored KC got them off to an 0-5 start and VY comes in to right the ship and lead them to the playoffs as a ROOKIE. Also, you hear over and over from the media about what a bust he is; anyone remember a guy named Matt Leinart? WTF has he EVER done in the league?

Not quite
They barely missed Vince’s first year, but it was an impressive run nonetheless. Vince also began starting after the Titans were 0-3, not 0-5.

Matt Leinart has learned to keep his mouth shut.
I've been fuelin' my dreams eatin' greens and beans.

Has he learned to keep his mouth shut? I seem to remember him guzzling beer from the beer bong
that was being held up by a couple sorority girls while partying in the hot tub….

and he said during the Super Bowl that he felt he also could have gotten AZ there....
He hasn’t been a model citizen either.

Does Vince really think any team is going to trade for him?
VY needs better advisors and management. When is the last time he made a headline for having a good game as opposed to having a ridiculous birthday party, saying something silly to the media, or taking his shirt off at a club? He needs to get back to work and earn his spot back. My goodness, if he can’t beat out Kerry Collins a change of scenery isn’t going to save his career.

have the Titans starting drills or practicing??
I’m just trying to make sense of VY’s comments, and why he’s shifted from his stance of keeping quiet this off-season. I’m wondering if something’s been communicated to him from the coaching staff or management that he didn’t like…or did he see something in drills or practice that irritated him to think he has no shot of starting in Tennessee.
I firmly believe VY knew his statements would cause a stir, and there’s a reason behind it. Maybe he’s not getting the practice reps he wants with first-teamers? This is just purely frustrating for me as an avid VY fan that wants to see him succeed!!!
Bottom line, it wasn’t a good ided on VY’s part………no matter the reason.

System
Could be that he got the playbook and saw that the system does not suit his abilities. If the Titans want a conservative pocket passer, then Vince is not their guy. He needs to find his way into a system that values a mobile QB.

Exactly. Will post on this up top.
Been sitting on this awhile but it is time for it now with this quote. Tennessee is not his model; never was.
