Tonight, is what it's all about!
Tonight at 7 p.m.(eastern) the two most storied programs in college baseball history face off. With the winner in the driver's seat to make it to the championship series. As a fan and player this is what you want and look forward to. In order to be the best you have to beat the best. Texas has a huge challenge in front of them taking on the best pitcher in the country(Strasburg may throw 103 mph, Keane is still a much better pitcher in my book). Texas is putting a guy on the mound as the likes of which I doubt the Sun Devils have faced all year as well. With a combined 11 national titles and 54 CWS appearances between these two ball clubs, this is baseball magic coming together.
Forget LSU(until the 1990's they were not a baseball powerhouse) forget USC(a program that I do not even know the last time they played in a regional). So as I think back to that wonderful January evening in 2006 when Longhorns team faced a huge challenge(as I am sure they are underdogs again tonight), but had their ace lifting them to a wonderful victory. The stage is set again tonight as the Longhorn's ace can place his team on his back and lead the most storied baseball program in the history of college baseball one step closer to that championship.

i am as excited as i can get for a baseball game
but also dreading the fact that after the college world series there is nothing but pro baseball to watch for two months…..
Not entirely
National Pro Fastpitch season is underway, and they’re offering free live video streaming of the games. Cat Osterman pitches for Rockford.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.
Any reason is a good reason to watch poetry in motion.

Oh yeah BTW.

I miss Cat and what she did for Texas softball.
I wonder if she has a little sister that is even more dominating.
The next up and coming Longhorns QB!

haha
I dont deny there are definitely a few good reasons why you should watch softball, but i just cant do it. Anytime a girl scores (at least in the college games i watched) the girl and the rest of the team act like she just scored the world series winning run. I dont know how they keep it up all game. Also it looks like they are playing on a little league t-ball field.
Snarky comment
Also it looks like they are playing on a little league t-ball field.
There is a snarky comment out there, I can’t put my finger on it just yet, I just have to mention this statement does not compute. You realize it’s SOFTball and therefore the SOFTball physically cannot/does not need to travel as far as a HARDball given the dynamics and dimensions of both games, right?

correct
I understand it’s necessary to play on a smaller field, but after watching baseball for years it always suprises me when i see a hit that looks like a routine pop fly off the bat sail out of the stadium. What can i say, watching softball just isnt for me. I do enjoy playing however
Any sport with tailgating is okay by me.

You can say this with a straight face after the chest-bumping?
Our lean, mean men’s baseball team chest-bumped and high-fived after the winning run WALKED home the other night.
So women celebrate a little differently. Big deal. We also don’t scratch, spit and adjust through the whole game. Decent trade-off, don’t you think?

sorry
I didn’t mean to offend anyone, just offering my opinions on softball. I think a win in the CWS does deserve high fiving and chest bumping though, no matter how ugly the win was. I gave my friend and former UT roommate a high five after the victory, even if it was a little sarcastic. I’m sure if i was a player in the CWS i would be pumped up after every victory. My point was that girls celebrate EVERY run like it was a game winning run. But if it doesn’t bother you I can understand that, like I said its just an opinion.
I'm not offended
Just offering an alternate opinion. Believe me, it takes much more than that to offend The Squirrel. : )

There’s…uhhh…politics. Or you could write a novel. Me? I’m currently dealing with a three-day old baby, which is great, but otherwise I’d totally be clawing my way up Dr. Maslow’s pyramid.
Or maybe I’ll just hook myself on Sims 3 and hope to kick the habit by the upcoming law school semester.

I don't think this is the end if we lose
Our pitching staff is much deeper than theirs. And how many starts are they going to get out of Leake? Maybe three with some bullpen action? Also their number two is pretty solid but he left with back soreness yesterday.
