Here we go!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Only explanations are:
Augie was pressing his luck
Clark is one of the team’s weaker bunters
Probably the former
Really hurts that we couldn't get a lead there
But I like our pen better than theirs.
It is worth noting
that Texas is undefeated (40-0-1) when leading after 6 innings.
I think the point is
That no college player (with the exception of possibly Huston Street) is capable of coming to the pros and playing right away based on their college experience.
I like those quick innings!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
we should be dominating this game, that 1st inning screwed us, left 2 runners on base...after having 0 outs
Hook 'Em
Jungmann
At least two more years are Texas, right?
but all of us will be going pro in something other than sports
nobody will care about you then. Wait, nobody cares about you now because you play soccer. STOP SHOWING THAT COMMERCIAL!!!!!
I am so glad Im not watching on 360 tonight
I got so sick of that Visigoth U commercial
if not that stupid referee gave us the red card...
we may tie or even able to beat Italy mafia team yesterday
There is a first for everything!!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Drops it down!
Good bunt
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
brandon is a nice guy, not cocky at all...group partners last year for some weak ass leadership class
Hook 'Em
Favorite meeting a UT ballplayer while in college story
Was breaking the news to Huston Street at Cain and Able’s that Ken Macha had been fired from the A’s, he’s a great guy
Anyone else think he has balked a few times?
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Glad its not just me
When you do that turn don’t you have to finish on the second base side of the rubber?
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
He was streaky
He has gone weeks at a time hot as hell only to cool off. That he’s hitting over .300 despite being at like .220 through the first month in the season is testament to how he has developed through the year…can you tell I’m a big Kevin Keyes believer?
He got his pitch!
Just missed it
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Gotta make something happen here.
ASU wants no part of Jungmann.
Lambson reminds me of
Barry Zito, did they say that already? Have been working the past 20 minutes or so…
dang....yet, wasted another opportunity to score with 2 men on the base
Keyes will never take a bunt…
Craig is only a couple of seconds ahead of TV
Not too bad.
Taylor is closing in on 40 pitches
Wonder what Wood has in the tank. I’d like to get 1 more inning from Jungmann.
NICE!
Liked that right when he hit it.

Texas is hitting the ball great!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Picked off!!!
Dang it!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Damn
Can’t have the mental mistakes now. Not with a lead I’ve been waiting for for 3 hours.
I was wondering why you were ahead
Had rewinded to rewatch the homer…awesome. Then picked off, not awesome
ITs really really close!!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Save all your luck for this game.
To hell with personal gain.

ESPN 360
1300 AM feed and BON board…
all at different speeds…
very confusing for my beer influenced mind!
Gotta hold 'em
2-0 and 2 days off are looking really good right now.
No.
We would play winner of ASU/UNC, and they’d have to beat us twice. We couldn’t play Arky unless we both got to the final.
Maitland in for Clark
Why the hell didn’t we pinch run for him last inning then?
HAHA
I just refreshed the box score on ESPN and it shows -3 runs in the top of the 7th. Didnt know that could happen…weird night.
Grea play!!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
It finally occurs to announcers to discuss Jungmann's pro prospects
Compare him to Ben Sheets and Mark Prior.
My wife gave up trying to talk to me while the game was on and went to bed...
I will pay for this later. :)
My gf is on the couch watching.
UT grad and she loves baseball. She’s unsure about my desire to watch and follow BON simultaneously, however.
lol, i do it every now and then, when the horns play away games in football....full blown apt party, and my macbook is open for my comments
Hook 'Em
I can't complain my wife is very understanding
I told her up front when we first started dating what she was in for
Before game
said I wouldn’t watch so we could watch what she wanted. Changed my mind… glad I did. Will deal with it.
now, let's capitalize what our D has gave us...
take the bunt whenever u can and just put some scores on the board to increase the lead…
Lead runner on!
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Leadoff walk
Leadoff man on, again…interesting to see what Belt does…a single run would mean a lot, but Belt could put ASU in a real tough bind
Now that AO and I have decided our wrap up will be our text conversation
We’ve begun saying big, philosophical things
Seriously
all these bunting statistics people want to throw out. Shove ’em up your ass. YOUR ASS.

Is it just me, or does Kevin Keyes look like a miss of John Chiles and Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?
NICE
I can’t believe we have just scored 10 runs on ASU.

AO's writing it in the morning
This has been the most incredible 180 degree turnaround in emotion, from true despair to utter joy…I’m still kinda in shock
It's a long story
A buddy of ours was the LSU homecoming king…he brought his sash to a new years party, somehow I got a hold of it and we took a picture putting our L’s up (for LSU of course).
Just one?
Go for borderline alcohol poisoning tonight! Luck is with us all tonight.

Texas vs LSU!!
Am I getting ahead of myself?
What a matchup that would be…………really want to see those two teams go at it.
It happened earlier in the year.
Good outcome for us if I’m remembering correctly…
Or I’m drunk and imagining things.

Be honest
How many of you thought Leake vs. Ruffin would be a 10-6 game in it’s 4th hour?
I sure as hell didn’t.
Everyone always talks about the "it" factor
This team has it! Like they were saying, Augie has the magical touch.
There is just something purely magical about this team. It makes it really really fun to watch. This really reminds me of the 2002 team and how they just win and come up with what they need.
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
It really is incredible
After the last 3 years, to go through this…it’s great…no matter the result of the tournament
No shit.
I used to watch Texas baseball, but not like this. I owe this experience to BON and you guys for getting me this far in.
How did we get back to Strasburg?
Go away Orel!

Glad that I didn't get drunk during the 6th inning....
things is better to come and now we’re 10-6 from 0-6……Thanks coach Augie. What a great pep talk he has given to the troops during the 4th inning!
yea, i remember the way he kept telling VY....
just put on your headphone with your cool hip hop music and go out to have some fun!
That first HR by Rupp when the ASU player leapt for it, I have to tell you I thought he had it.
He came down and that look he gave I thought it was in his glove.
5 More Outs
Aside from how bad it looked early on – bad enough to get real defeatist – the only bad thing about this game is the announcers fixating on the “Sound of Music”, the MLB draft and bonus money for guys not even playing in this game. These announcers are really terrible, a distraction from a great game.
So im watching the first 3
and ASU is killing us. So i go watch a movie. Come back 2 hours later, and the seemingly sucky Horns offense has scored 10 runs. I love college baseball.
Jungman
Great stuff, that guy was so far out in front it was not even funny.
Not only do all these Texas pitchers have stuff they know when to throw what pitches
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
Wow
That was a close one!

Wow, the baseball gods have turned around on us
Earlier in the game that would’ve gone to downtown Omaha
Maitland is a very good defensive player
Maybe nervous, but fully capable
I agree
Jungmann has thrown 65. Might as well let him finish and give Austin some more rest. We may need him.
The most amazing part is that Ruffin pitched 2+ innings
He hasn’t gone less than 6 all year, he has been the most dependable pitcher on the staff, we wouldn’t be anywhere without him. Then to do this when he struggles, it just shows what an amazing team this is.
OK
I will drink another beer.
BTW, it’s 10:00 pm CDT and not only does OU suck, but ASU (as usual) also suck.
Dicharry came in for Ruffin
And was spotty. Then Jungmann came out and turned in one of the top 5 pitching performances for Texas of the postseason
it looks like Augie has some kind of allergies...
someone needs to give him some med…. so he can stop sneezing….
This game stood no chance with them when Leake was chased
They wanted to suck him off for a full 9.
Come from behind...what can i say?
if this game cannot give us the huge confidence boost to the Champions series… I dunno what will!
Man, kid’s been great in relief. Couldn’t be more optimistic about his future.

Where does this one rank for y'all?
I guess it’ll be bigger if we win it all, but just an amazing victory…this may be a team of destiny after all
It certainly feels that way.
I’ll admit I’m not a baseball guy, but this team has done nothing but amaze me and the first game I ever watched was that 25 inning BC game.

Amazing game
2 days to rest and 1 win away from the final
What a game!!!
That was awesome!

Bassale and silky, you guys keep preaching doom and gloom
we will keep pulling this out
I never doubted this team all year until the early innings of this game
because this team has never played like they played in the early innings of this game.
I said the team would need a complete turnaround by both us and ASU in order to win, and fortunately for us, we got that.
Yea I know
I was speaking about the superstitions that go along with baseball. You guys keep doubting we keep winning. Like the pitcher who wears the same shirt w/o washing it or won’t step on the chalk like going back to the dugout.
Just waking up here in London
What a way to start the day!
May have already been discussed, but has Augie lost confidence in Wood?

Nah, he just didn’t need him tonight. Jungmann was hurling fire.
by burntorangehorn on Jun 16, 2009 10:23 PM CDT up reply actions
No Velocity
Austin had no velocity in the last game. He’s consistent with 89-92 usually. But since BC he’s 82-85. Jungman is the new closer.
Jungmann is not the new closer
He is a starter all the way, and if we hadn’t needed him tonight, he might very well be starting game 3 on Friday.
Augie said in the postgame that he brought Jungmann in after we tied it up because he felt like if we could get the win, then that would give us 2.5 days to get our rotation back in order so we wouldn’t need Jungmann to start game 3. He left Jungmann in because there simply wasn’t a need to take him out. He was pitching great, and we had a decent lead.
Austin Wood was never going to be brought on in the 4th inning. That’s ridiculous.
Exactly. Jungmann was rolling with authority, so why change it up? And in the theory of bringing in the closer just because he’s the closer, I think it’s sort of a “one in the hand > two in the bush” concept here.
by burntorangehorn on Jun 17, 2009 10:16 AM CDT up reply actions
So we face the winner of ASU-UNC...
… and only have to win one of two games, and have three of our four best pitchers and our best reliever ready to go?
I’ll take them odds.

I shouldn’t even mention it, but I’d think Jungmann would have to be on tap for the 20th, if necessary.
