Louisiana-Monroe Game
Does anybody have any idea what time it is going to be? I already have tickets and the hotel room. Now I'm just looking to plan out the weekend. This will be only my second game at DKR since 1996 so any help with bars or restaurants would be greatly appreciated. I barely recognized Austin when I was there last year for the Florida International game. Can't wait until football season. Hook 'em!!

you mean Florida Altantic right?
But according to MB-TF, the time and television channel haven’t been determined yet. I’m guessing it would be in the morning and if it is televised, Fox Sports SW.
To refer to a previously discussed topic, see here.
I hate the PPV thing. Hope that doesn’t happen, because I can’t figure out how to buy a PPV game of Texas out here in MD. IIRC, there was an online viewing link last year for the PPV game, wasn’t there?
I will say, though, that the best gift I got for my birthday last July was GamePlan. I got to watch basically every UT game except for the PPV one last season, which was a first out here in ay-see-see land.

How much does that run?
I’m on Comcast, and as much as I enjoy going down to Rhodeside Grille, I’d like to be able to nurse my hangover at home for a few games, or DVR them for later enjoyment.
PPV in Maryland
If you have Direct TV it is pretty easy, although if you have trouble with the automatic ordering, calling will be little help.
Otherwise you could always go to Rhodeside in Arlington to watch the PPV games.
Nah, no way I’d consider DTV. I’m a FiOS kinda guy.

$129, although last year (and I believe most years prior to that) there was an “early bird” price, I believe around $99. You might have to wait to see if you hope for an early bird price, ironically enough.

Restaurant
I suggest the Migas and Fajitas with a Mexican Martini at Trudy’s Little Texas Lane in South Austin.
Where to eat depends on what kind of food one wants. I love the BBQ places like Stubbs, and concerts are great there as well. My mother never misses a chance to eat at the East Side Cafe, which is a little less the meat-and-potatoes place. You can walk around anywhere on the south, southwest, and west (Guadalupe) sides of the university and find a million good places to eat.
Hey people still in/around Austin, is Pyramids still there?

Southeast corner of the 290/I35 interchange.
6019 N I-35 is the exact address. Good food, good atmosphere, bellydancing is nice, and not too expensive. I just don’t know if they’re still in business. Haven’t been to town since about 2004.

Well
The only restaurant i can remember at that intersection is Texas Land and Cattle, maybe it replaced pyramids. Unless i’ve been oblivious the last three years it probably is gone. Too bad though it sounded pretty cool. At least Baby A’s is still there so i can get my purple marg fix.
Wow
That’s a place I haven’t heard about in a long time. Talk about bringing back fuzzy memories. Baby A’s was a great place for a cheap drunk especially if you had ladies with you.

Thanks so far and I'm stupid
Yes, you are right it was the Florida Atlantic game. My bad! That was my first game at DKR since ‘96 when I finished school. Austin has changed a ton in the years since then. I will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown. I know Trudy’s from back in the day. Are there any new places that I should check out. I’m no longer a struggling college student so the swankier the better. Thanks for all the help so far. Hook’ em!!
Trudy's and Stubb's - ready to head to Austin with just those words
Trudy’s – love the mexican martinis!
Sun Belt = After 5pm....
Most, if not all, of our Sun Belt opponent games in Austin have been at night at 5 or 6pm so I don’t see a reason for that to change now with one of the few remaining Sun Belt teams we haven’t played.
The ULM game is extra special for our house as my wife graduated from ULM & I from one of the UT schools. The game itself is actually going to be on the exact day of our 5th wedding anniversary so I have a regular hotel booked for the night of the game & a BnB booked for the next night. I haven’t got tickets yet as I haven’t seen individual tickets on sale yet. I figure I will see what is out there or buy tickets thru her school allotment as she is the Houston Chapter president for ULM.
Hook ’em!
