Damn
Now’s when I’d prefer Keyes and Moldy out there
by 40AS on Jun 22, 2009 9:53 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
They're not gonna give rup anything to hit.
Not with 2 outs and a defensive substitute batting .147 on deck.

what happened to keyes? musta missed it when i was out.

by Horns98 on Jun 22, 2009 9:59 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs

New to this season?
That’s the only way we know how

what was the point of Lusson in the clutch?

Gotta complete the choke
Need a hitting meltdown to go with the pitching meltdown

We put Lusson in in right field late in the game because of his speed.
Occasionally it doesn’t work out, and we have to send him to the plate. This is one of those times.

Why do I fear that Workman is about to fall apart?
by bassale47 on Jun 22, 2009 10:01 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Probably because we just saw Jungmann and Dicherry

fucking pathetic
we’re doing everything to lose this
by UT2001 on Jun 22, 2009 10:04 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
All the pitchers are pitching carefully, probably on orders.
When you have dangerous hitters, you do that.

in like the fifth Erin Andrews was talking about him drying his uniform of sweat between innings

We haven't done anything to lose yet.
We just haven’t done anything to win since about the 7th inning. This team needs to make up their minds that they’re going to win this and just do it. They keep effing around and it’s about to bite them square on the ass.

Just means we need 2 in the bottom of the inning
by NeTexHorn on Jun 22, 2009 10:11 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
i still dont understand
why the hell Augie wont play small ball to close out this game??
by Horns98 on Jun 22, 2009 10:12 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Because you can't give away outs against this team.
You could if you were winning. We’re not winning.
by bassale47 on Jun 22, 2009 10:13 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
When did you want small ball?
They bunted in the 9th
by 40AS on Jun 22, 2009 10:13 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
If only a couple of those solo shots hadn't been solos.
by bassale47 on Jun 22, 2009 10:12 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
They would have been enough if either Jungmann or Dicherry could have hit the strike zone

why throw breaking balls when they can't hit the heat?
that’s just giving them a chance
by Xerxes on Jun 22, 2009 10:13 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Ok guy cramped up in like the fourth
Does anyone else realize this is BB???
by Longerhorn on Jun 22, 2009 10:15 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
I'd prefer a win
But we’re certainly not dead if we don’t complete the comeback

by Longerhorn on Jun 22, 2009 10:17 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
If the Horns lose, that ups the drama quotient.
They must play well or else.
by whills on Jun 22, 2009 10:17 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Rowe be our hero pls....
let’s hit that damn ball out of the park………….
by Horns98 on Jun 22, 2009 10:19 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Rowe has done his job. Someone else should have stepped up tonight.
Like maybe our bullpen.

FUCK.
See you tomorrow. This team sure doesn’t make it easy on you, do they?
by ctex80 on Jun 22, 2009 10:20 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Manana.
A loss in the right place can sober up a team. This happened vs. TCU.
They can play better, definitely pitch better, even coach better.
It’s a demanding game.
by whills on Jun 22, 2009 10:21 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
i'm kind of disappointed
our small ball strategy has completely gone especially, the late game inning..
by Horns98 on Jun 22, 2009 10:22 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
once they started pulling pitchers
it also messed up the lineup and the hitting went south
by Xerxes on Jun 22, 2009 10:22 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Someone will make the argument that Woods could have gone the whole way.
he wasn’t that sharp overall, but he was fairly effective.
by whills on Jun 22, 2009 10:24 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
The benefit of hindsight
It’s easy to assign fault at the end of the game. Certainly, I would have kept Austin Wood in the game simply because of his seniority. However, when they put Jungmann in, I would have said that it was a sound move. I certainly did not expect him to throw 6 balls, and I certainly feel that two of them were firm strikes that the umpire refused to give him.
Yeah, our pitching got a lot more shaky towards the end of the game, but the perspective of it at the time is important to consider.
