Why the Ags Have Fallen Off?
This is worth a read, if only because it's totally ridiculous. Here's the synopsis:
"The Sooners, Tigers and Longhorns all passed the Aggies because they all had one thing in common:
Easy majors. "

Didnt I read somewhere
That the top 10% rule was only a problem for UT, and that is was not a signicant issue at the other state schools?

Pretty sure I heard that as well.
Definitely sounds right, and certainly doesn’t explain the difference in Texas and Texas A&M’s performance because even if the Ags were equally affected (which they’re not), then there’d be no difference in its limitations on recruiting.
yeah I agree
That arguement could go both ways. If they are held back by not being able to over talent because of the top 10% rule, anyone else would too. Plus, isnt the rule only 30 – 35 (?) new freshman players a year. That shouldnt put too much of a dent in their enrollment

We have easy majors?
Sure.
The Aggies should be the last ones to point this out, however. Get someone from Rice to write that article if you want to be taken seriously. What did that former Aggie basketball player say he took? Floral arrangement? Come on, Aggies. At least accuse us of something that you didn’t invent.
I like how the author...
Cites education as an easy major that athletes take at UT, then talks about how Aggies who don’t want to do agriculture have to do something tough like business or, ahem, education.
This is just crazy....
I grew up in Dallas and the people that were worried about getting into a particular school were worried about getting into Rice and Texas. Nobody was pulling their hair out over the thought of not getting into A&M.
There is a reason everyone in this part of the country tells aggy jokes instead of UT jokes.
This may be the worst article I've ever read.
I mean, there’s so many logical errors that it could be written by a Sooner.
Did you hear about the Aggie that moved to Oklahoma and raised the IQ of both states?
