Nov 15 2003 Texas (6) vs. Texas Tech (16)
Fox Sports (Time Warner Ch.430) just aired the game couple hours ago... Texas ranked #6 and played at home....We have the offense #10VY #32 Benson #4 Roy Williams.... and defense #11 Derrick Johnson #7 Michael Huff #31 Aaron Ross....
Wow, I totally forgot the game was that closed....Texas 35 Tech 34 with 6:33 left of the game.... VY went for 4th and 8 at Tech 27 yard line but unsuccessful and fumble & turnover...Tech marched the ball downfield & scored the TD with 2:02 left of the game...Texas 35 Tech 40(Texas blocked the extra point kick)......Then, VY got pulled out of the game by playing poorly. Chance Mock threw the long bomb to #4 RW. An awesome grab by him & down at Tech 30 yards line. Then, Mock threw another long bomb to BJ Johnson....A crazy catch & got us the TD with 45 sec left of the game....Texas 41 Tech 40... Mock went for 2 pts try successfully Texas 43 Tech 40. But, Tech never gave up & they marched the ball downfield to Texas 30 yard line with 4 sec left of the game. Tech tried the field goal but it went wide right(just 12 inches from the goal post).... Final score Texas 43 Tech 40.....
Let's hope it won't be like that on coming Sept. 19 but with their new QB, I doubt it will.....In fact, we need to kick their ass bad to get revenge..... If not because of them, we would have on MNC spot last year....
Hook'em!

Worst Commentary Ever
I watched that game too on fsn, and during the last second comeback by Chance i heard the worst commentary ever. “They took a Chance, but he didn’t Mock the position,” I nearly threw the remote at the tv when i heard that coming out of the poor man’s version of John Madden

Do you mean Roy Williams?
#4 Roy Miller.

I almost deleted this just for that.
Kidding, but that is a serious error. Can you imagine Roy streaking down the sideline on a fly route? Burning everyone…

lol.....my bad
Pardon me…..i got mixed up….its Williams not Miller.
While I was writing that post, I was just thinking too much about how great our #99 defensive tackle last year…..heh….

My fondest memory of that game
Screaming at the top of my lungs, “WHY IS CHANCE MOCK GOING IN!!?!?!?! THIS IS THE GAME WINNING DRIVE!!!! PUT VINCE BACK IN!!!!!” and being reminded three sweet minutes later why I’m not a coach. That game kicked all kinds of ass

It’s weird watching this and not seeing VY totally dominate.

I had no recollection of this game at all
Yet I vividly remember ’02 in Lubbock; must be the negativity in me.
Great finish, but terrible officiating mistakes. Cut both ways, I thought. The spots on Benson’s two runs that stopped Horns around the TT seven-yard line totally changed the flow of the game.
I’m guessing (not having looked up any postgame react) that Mack put Chance Mock out there because he was a fourth-year player who had more experience with the two-minute drill. Helped that Tech played “He’s your man” on Roy Williams’ long play.

Regarding officiating
at least their was a call, unlike last year, where Tech got called for holding.
