Steve McNair Found Shot To Death
It's not really Longhorns-related, but it's relevant to a lot of football fans, especially those of the Houston Oilers and Vince's predecessor at Tennessee.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Former Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been killed. Police said McNair suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville.
RIP, Steve. You were a good guy.

very shocking
I couldn’t believe the news when I came home from work. He was a fave QB of mine, and I can only HOPE, Vince will grow up to be like him
RIP Steve

Not to mention,
a mentor to Vince and someone who took great interest in his young career. Really shocking news.

That killed me when McNair was nudged out of Tennessee. I had hoped he’d remain and be able to help mentor and pass the torch to Vince over a couple of seasons. I mean, I was glad to have him come out here to Maryland, but I couldn’t think of a better player for Vince to emulate in his development.

wow.
i was only a casual fan of SM at most, but this just took the legs out from under me. Absolutely shocking and tragic. May God grant peace unto his family, friends, and fans.

I remember watching Steve
on television while he was at Alcorn State. He was an amazing quarterback and an even more amazing athlete. Prior to McNair, I don’t think I had ever heard of Alcorn State or knew where it was located (Lorman, MS.)
Rest in peace #9, you will be missed.
Here are VY’s comments about McNair’s death

I do not understand
This guy really seemed to have it all … great career, great reputation, amazing family. And he was cheating on his wife and four boys with some 20-year-old honey?
Of course, he did NOT deserve to die for his indiscretions. But I don’t understand why it’s so hard for athletes to just appreciate what they have, rather than always looking for the next hot bod. Seems like it just makes life more messy and complicated, not better.
My prayers to his family and friends. And to VY – I hope this doesn’t further complicate his mental outlook. I’ve been concerned about him already – prior to this – just as many of us have.
Watch out, I bite.

That's a confusing point
According to the woman’s family, she claimed he was getting divorced. But there was no divorce filed in court as of yet, and nobody else is talking about a possible divorce.
Makes you wonder if he changed his mind … don’t know what other motive she might have for killing the golden goose.
Very sad, all around.
Watch out, I bite.
