How did we miss this? Andy Roddick's brother and new OU tennis coach John Roddick is all decked out in his Sooner garb to watch the Men's Singles Final at Wimbledon. His brother lost a heartbreaker in the longest final in grand slam history, but at least Andy went home with his dignity.

That's weird
Roddick is an Austinite, I have seen him a round a few times. I wonder if he pulls for the horns
"I don't ever miss free throws. I'm like 100-percent from the free throw line. I just don't think about missing and if you think about missing you're going to miss. I just take my time and know I'm going to make it and I do," McClellan said.
ok full disclosure
I’ve been known to pick my nose, but never in my life would I EAT it, I mean wtf?! Why people do this just amazes me. Just flick it or something, smear it on the lady in front of you, don’t EAT it!
I noticed.
I’ve always disliked Roddick because how rude he seems to be much of the time, and one time a few years ago a reporter asked him if he rooted for the Horns because he lives in Austin, and he stated in no uncertain terms that he’s a Nebraska fan. He was born or grew up in Nebraska, I think. And now his brother is a Sooner. If he’s trying to make me like him less and less, it’s working.
Although…I felt for him yesterday. That was a heartbreaking match, well-played by Roddick.
Well he was born in Omaha, I believe
Guy can like his hometown team. I have nothing against Nebraska. I have always followed Roddick. I appreciate Nadal and Federer and the like, but I don’t care if they win or lose. Roddick losing that match was just ridiculous. At least we got this out of it.
Yeah, I have no problem with him being a Nebraska fan.
I’ve always followed Roddick too, and I’ve always wanted to like him and root for him, but I just can’t. His personality just really grates with my own. I don’t begrudge anyone else rooting for him, though, and he really does obviously care a lot and work really hard. You have to feel for a guy who has lost to Federer now four times in grand slam finals. I know I wanted Agassi to win a couple more majors before he retired, and he lost to Federer as well. But I think Roddick should be able to do well in the US Open this year, and hopefully more Wimbledons in the future.
I agree with you re: doing better in the future.
Andy has gotten his attitude under control. Whereas before he would get really frustrated and play angry if a few things went against him, in this Wimbledon he mostly kept his cool and “went to work”. Really paid off for him, as he was able to play two of the best matches of his life in the semis and final. I really think if he was playing anyone else in the world he would have won that final.
Do you enjoy Federer's attitude?...
I think Federer’s quite possibly the lamest and most boring person I’ve ever seen in my life. I can’t stand the guy!
I like the fact that Andy’s got some attitude. On top of that, he has always been cool when I or my friends have seen him out in the ATX.

Federer is smug.
I hate smug. I like Andy to be a little feisty, but only if it helps him play better, not when it hurts his game as it has before. It’s cool to watch someone get pissed and serve straight aces to get out of a jam, it’s not cool to watch someone get pissed and dump everything into the net and lose. I’ll take the reserved Andy if it means more tennis like what we saw at Wimbledon.
I do enjoy Federer's attitude, yeah.
I don’t find him to be smug, personally. What’s funny though is remembering when I was a kid I really didn’t like Sampras and I loved Agassi, because Sampras was so boring and Agassi had a lot more obvious personality. So maybe I’ve changed as I’ve gotten older. Although I think Federer is a lot more emotional than Pete was. He does say c’mon and yell and stuff every once in a while.
For the most part, though, I enjoy Federer’s game. I just feel lucky that I’m watching the greatest player ever. As a tennis player myself, I just always enjoy watching him play.
I detest Andy Roddick
When John McEnroe lost his composure it was a result of his competetive passion overflowing; when Andy Roddick does it its because he’s a self-entitled and bratty douche-bag. Winning seven Grand Slams affords McEnroe a little bit of latitude, but Roddick has won practically nothing, which renders his antics that much more embarrassing.
Andy Roddick represents the worst of how the rest of the world views our culture. Consider the occasion, earlier this year at the Australian Open, when he told the chair umpire to “dude, grow a sack.” I’m sorry, but you can neither romanticize, nor excuse such deficient personality. He’s an idiot, and its sad to think he’s currently at the top of US Tennis, especially when you consider that the US has arguably the greatest Tennis tradition.
Federer, on the other hand is among my favorite athletes. He’s possibly the only entirely honest and pragmatic sports personality that I know. Good or bad, I don’t think I’ve heard him spin a single line of crap.

Federer inspired this, that alone is enough to make him one of my favorite athletes.

Cottonwood Shores
Andy is sponsoring a youth tennis center in Cottonwood Shores (near Marble Falls). Eight courts and camps for kids that are obese or diabetic. He’s one of the good ones.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.
OK sooooo....
How on earth do you live down doing THAT? I guess you don’t. That will live on YouTube forever.

have you noticed that there have been a ton of OU things like this
and very few Texas ones. OU has had the crying kid, the crying clarinet player, the obese fan in the jorts, and now this. I can only recall one Texas one (the girl crying)
Dude Just Ate His Own Damn Booger
Who does that? If anyone has habitually eaten their own boogers, or if you perhaps know a friend, relative, or coworker who eats their own boogers, please speak now.
Booger or fingernail?
I hate OU as much as the next Longhorn, but I have to say that to me it looks like he is taking something out of his mouth and not putting something in it. I have known John since we were kids and he is always chewing his fingernails. If you watch the video it is clear that he is chewing on something before he rubs/picks his nose. I think he was chewing on his fingernail, rubbed his nose and then removed the fingernail from his mouth. However, it is fun to make fun of Sooners, so carry on. . .
I have to agree.
Much as I want to make fun of the Sooner, I also think it looks like he’s taking a fingernail out of his mouth. I’m a habitual fingernail biter, and that’s a familiar gesture.

Next time you find something ridiculous
Allow me to point out that it may have a much, much duller explanation.
Perhaps it was vinegar
A lot of English food is served with vinegar. I could see that after rubbing his nose, he licked off the vinegar from his finger. It could happen.
Watch The Tongue
The tongue clearly comes up to carress the junction of the nail and the finger. Regardless of intention, finger went lightly into the nose, then whatever product was removed, if any, was licked.
Thanks for the analysis, TC
It’s now the Zapruder film of booger-eating.
